Well... i took mine out for a spin and it didnt feel right

got home, touched the handbrake drum and I could fry eggs on it.

so, got the prop out of the way, took everything apart, cleaned, greased, adjusted and now the handbrake drums spins freely..

also overheated a bit on the way home, there's some mud, but not massive amounts, from last trip to salisbury plains, the rad is new... so im hoping it was the strain of driving with the handbrake binding that caused the temp to climb up over middle.. also had the rad muff up, but usually its not a problem

Used it to take a trailer load of crap to the tip, then put 95 fookin quids worth of doozil in it.:eek::eek:

Gearbox, transferbox, axles, hubs and steering box oil levels next :D When was the last time you greased your nipples?

Nah, that's the lot of my vehicle maintenance - its garage for anything else

Plus, will have you know, I have very well moisturised n........- ssshh 110w:eek:

Nearly stripped the rear Discovery axle down completely, getting it ready for my currently rear drum-brake Defender, just need to take off the discs and then it's a case of degreaser and a bit of elbow grease :D
Taking the calipers to work to put them in the solvent bath, and when they're squeaky clean, put new stainless cylinders in them, new seals and some brake caliper paint, probably yellow :biggrin1:

Fitted a Mud Console, first class piece of kit, good instructions, looks good now its in, but £58 for a bit of molded plastic and three bits of bent tin  well "you pays your money and you takes your choice"

I did look at making my own or the other alternatives but ended up with a Mud Console as the best option.
