Hi,

I've gone and bought another disco! It a 95 m reg. done 130,000 with 2 owners and (i can not quite beleive it) full land rover service history. I'm off to Austria in Dec. Going to drive it down. I'm in the middle of doing the following to it,

2" inch lift kit, shocks and hd springs,
winch and bumper
larger profile tyres
straight though exhaust
snorkel
replacing inner wings. rusted!
roof rack
rock sliders
and few other bits.

Looking forward to next week when its done.

tighted n/s wheel bearing after spending 46 quid to get the 52mm socket.. long story you dont wanna know..

and found that all that effort might not of been needed... as the o/s track rod end has play in it! tw@t!

gonna get one of them tomorrow and start again...

replaced rear brake pads...

just got swivel ball seal to do next and loads of weldin for mot at end of month...

Stripped handbrake yesterday to see why the ratchet was not holding (Ser III). The end of the pawl was flat instead of pointy, so tried to file it, but too hard (ie hardened, not difficult). Today bought a new one (£2.50 + vat!) and rebuilt it all again. What would that have cost for almost any other vehicle? Took me 4 hours though, but I was very thorough!! Now it stays stopped. :)

repaired a broken leccy window wire in drivers door yesterday soldered the new wire in (save me doing it again if i'd used crimp conectors ) worked fine all afternoon yesterday, then this morning the bloody switch is playing up
picked up the hard door for the ifor williams after spraying looks the bollocks will get a picy in the day light tomorrow

Hi all, pretty new to the forum and Land Rovers, bought a 2000 Disco TD5 a week ago yesterday and have only really done some tinkering so far.

Cruise control fitted (in prep for a trip to the Lakes we did last weekend)
Cig Lighter rewired
Door trim refitted correctly
Panic over missing rocker cover bolt (sheared) when checking the EGR mod that's on.

Planned to do:
Full service - only got receipts for parts and oil etc since 2007 so not sure when it was last done.
Chassis cleanup & Wax Oil.
Sunroof drain pipe cleanout/reattach.
Anything else I find :D

spent all day messin wiv leakin swivel ball seal....

losened every nut but 1... the top one of the ones that hold the plate that holds the seal in...

snapped my 8mm spanner,,, ive hit it, soaked it in wd40, hit it some more, bought a set of proffesional spanners, which rounded it... filed it down to 7mm, still rounded it, tried bashin a 7mm socket on to it and socket failed,

gonna have to take off the whole hub i guess.. so i can get more violent.. aaargh,,,

lookin at swivel ball its a bit pitted so i'm gonna change that at same time...

buster makes it look easy but i bet it aint gonna be...

Spent a couple of theraputic hours grinding off and undoing the bolts that hold the front of the Ser3 tub to the seat base. Stopped for today, only a couple more to do then lift the tub off to let me see the state of the chassis. photos will follow when the tub comes off.

clocked up 50 miles, driving to and from tip loaded with Rubble and soil. reckon I've shifted at least 2tonnes today.

not mine but my dads, spent a few hours figuring out what was wrong with it and writing a list of parts that need to be replaced. so next week ill be fitting a new track rod, thermostat and making a switch for the front fans so he can turn them on and off when needed, seeing as they dont work at all currently...
