Needed to repair the splash guard. Got the four 7/16" bolts out which hold the bottom to the footwell, but with much cursing. They moved ok, but you need arms 5 feet long to hold both ends. After repair, I decided to take the front door off, so I could reach both the bolt head and the nut. Soooo much easier! Isn't it odd how the jobs which should be easy give so much trouble?
Having a day off tomorrow, then, on Monday, finish the swivel repair and move it over to start on the other side. Will my finger nails ever be clean again??:)

Td out

200tdi in, just need to connect all the pipes! New clutch in with rear crank oil seal and the like, clutch feels lovely now! Buttery smooth! It's been a good day.

Nice work! Bet you can't wait to feel that Tdi power now!

Today I finished installing my Terrafirma +2 kit :D

Took me about 7hrs to do first front one yesterday, and only 2hrs to do the other side today. Only problem I had was with the lower stud on the front shocks; both were too long, so were hitting the top of the axle. Apparently it's a common problem. So I messed about putting extra bushes etc in to try and gain some clearance, but ended up just cutting 3/4 inch off the bottom of each. Plenty of stud left to put the nut on, and clears the axle nicely now.

And finally I christened the new suspension on my favourite greenlane :) No more bottoming out, uncontrolled bouncing, and soaks up the terrain much better now. Also rolls less in corners, despite being higher up.

Well chuffed :D

Oh, and also installed new heavy duty 3 piece steel steering guard.

Have ye had any luck with finding an injection pump?

Hope the bodge lasts for you then.

Where are you planning on getting the IP from, come payday? I have been checking eBay but it seems to be slim pickings - and the few that there are, are expensive buy it nows.

Langers, where did you get your lift kit from? And how much was it if you don't mind me asking?

Here.

Works out at £250, inc vat and delivery.

Well chuffed with it, although when it was delivered it was missing one of the shock absorber nuts. MM4x4 sent a replacement out really quickly though once I had e-mailed them. Will get some piccies up tomorrow.

Over the last couple of weeks the list looks somat like this

Extreme 4x4 1 inch longer 30% stiffer springs
Delphi decarbon dampers all round
de cat pipe
rear brake discs and all new pads
flo flex bush kit
tweaked fuel pump as per "Sluggish disco.........not any more!" thread

oh and 2 bulbs that were working when they felt like it, changed to good ones

Started putting front lh hub back together Monday afternoon. Ok till I realised I should have put the halfshaft back before the brake back plate (doh!). Then spent the best part of an hour trying to get the halfshaft back in. Is there a recommended way? Did it in the end (about 7:30 pm). I'm beginning to hate the smell of EP90. Still, it's dry and sunny, so no excuse not to dive back in. Perhaps after a pot of tea...:)

Changed the engine oil and oil filter. checked all the other fluid levels, only the transfer box needed a drop of EP make everything right again

finally finished the brakets for me rock sliders, just waiting for the primer to dry, next question what colour for the top coat....
