finally got the old bus over the pit at lunch time to start stripping the fooked transfer box out

seems i found the reason for the failure  got all the linkages undone and cracked all the bolts between the gearbox and tranny ready for the weekend, thought i'd better drain the gear oil out before i rapped it up for the day

thats all that came out
i always thought when you pay a garage to do a MOT & service every year they would check all the oil levels  might be just me expecting too much for me dosh

Replaced the reverse light bulb, nearside front sidelight bulb and fitted some reverse park sensors so that the ballast can park it when she breaks the chav mobile.

Went for a ride in the V8 to get a new water pump, 'kin ell does it sound nice, espcially at about four grand. Then I ran out of gas..bugger... brakes went soft again...bugger...still, sounds even better on petrol, crisper/sharper somehow, gave it the beans on the way home and got the V8 buzzz. Cheered me up anyway :D

Fitted me Get out the way bar

done the usual under the bonnet checks

oil - aint used any, still clean (1500 miles since last change)
PAS/Brake fluid levels ok
windscreen washers topped up
Coolant still leaking very very slightly from small bolt near throttle body, will point it out when it goes to the garage in a couple of weeks time

checked floor and headlining for leaks, none found

took rear propshaft off, removed brake drum to change the brake shoes only to find that the shoes had no wear at all!.....so ended up changing the output shaft oil seal. i now have a handbrake!
replaced my near side headlamp, also need to get my windscreen replaced, both got broken within 30 second of eachother by flying granite chips, where the surface dressing on the b3004 Bordon to alton road has failed totally. (might put a claim in at the council offices!!)
just came indoors to warm up and have a brew........and a quick browse on here.
now going back out to change gearbox, transfer box and axle oils.
p.s. i got my headlamp, oil seal, 5 ltrs texaco mtf 94 oil,and 6 ltrs texaco 75w/90r oil ....all for £111.99 from keith gott's in alton....... happy as a pig in sh*t!!
