sat 25th is fine, i thort sats weren't so good for you - i could do sat the 18th too if any good? - maybe we should have anvva oddie birfday bash at Baldhu?

18th would be better still - also less likelyhood of grankid no. 2 arriving inconveniently.

I have replaced the coolant manifold on my l-series freelander. It took me nearly 12 hours. The old one was totally rusted through in several places.
Doesn't loose a drop of coolant now. There is absolutly no room to move anything working on a freelander. A real pain.

Filters and oil change.

Snapped the drain plug handle off my fuel sedimenter, a new one needed I suppose?

Off roading tomorrow, I wonder what will drop off?

taken the engine out, replaced the release bearing

AN IT STILL AIN'T FOOKIN RIGHT!

bastid land rovers i'm fooked off with em:violent:

so it wasn't the release bearing but what do i do next?

is it the engine side or the gear box side

iv'e done all i know an it still don't fookin work right!

What was the problem b4 u started?

B2T, i fitted my babys car seat in today...............

And tried the new key!

Yesterday was better drained the excess oil out the engine over a litre :(

excess oil is a common thing then  i drained 2 ltrs out of mine when i bought it and still dealing with the concequences now!!

today i have steam cleaned the engine and found my oil leak is coming from the inlet manifold. jet washed the sand off the front wing from when i took a short cut to the boat yard, but left the bonnet dirty (the money ran out ) and also found a local place to get some new wheels and tyres.

Is that a common thing then???
Because when i got mine, about 3 weeks ago, I checked the oil as the seller said it had just been serviced (and to be honest the filters were new) and the oil level was spot on between marks.....
today i checked it again and it's on Max??

should I drain some?

Today I've also greased and checked the props and UJs, untangled all the grass from underneath, around brakes and suspension, untagled about 1m of thin plastic rope that was around the brake disc and sorted some bits and bobs...

stupidy i didnt check the levels when i got the car, but like you i was told 'serviced 2 weeks ago when it was MOT'd', all new filters and the engine oil looked clean in the filler cap. got it home and i drained 2ltrs of engine oil out to get it to the max mark on the dipstick, and ive also gotta drain alot out of the auto box because thats way over the max mark!

Today I've Gaffa taped my sunroofs... I've never used the Sunroof in any car so recon this save me the hassle of getting the headliner stripped out etc.

intercooler out and cleaned today - not much oil in it :D
inlet manifold off and cleaned - ALOT of oil in it
just gotta hope that its come in through the intercooler and not out through the head, otherwise im gonna be worried.

also managed to unstick the diff-lock lever so instead of it not moving at all it now selects hi-lo and diff-lock on off easily.

AND found out why my cruise control didnt work - it wasnt connected to the vacuum pump . why did LR put the pump in such a stupid place? ended up working blind to push the pipe on. not had a chance to test drive it yet but cant forsee any problems (famous last words!!).

only job left to do is drain some oil out of the gearbox after it was overfilled, and fit a new bonnet release cable - but thats a tomorrow job
