Admittedly this week rather than today .. took it for its MOT a lovely chap small Independent garage servicing & repairs plus MOT work only , who was word of mouth recommended charged £47 and as he says “your paying me for my time so if it’s right I’ll pass it , rather than the nationals at £29 who your paying to find something wrong as they aren’t covering the labour let alone the testing kit at that low price” . It passed with flying colours so my work over the past few weeks aided by many on here to replace disks and pads all round plus newhandbrake shoes and all the gubbins not forgetting replacing the split DPF Pressure sensor pipe has all been worthwhile :)

Replaced UJ's in front propshaft. Needle bearings in one cap were rusty. Seals were rock hard, so not sure if one had failed or the grease just wasn't getting through. Did oil service whilst the propshaft was off and enjoyed the experience of not having to work around the propshaft and having the oil pouring all over it :)

I can't detect any play in the rear but I'll take it off and replace those as well when I have more time.

New rear diff. It's wild! I can actually talk to people or listen to the CD without being drowned out by the engine and I can get into 5th without it suddenly deciding it'd rather be in 3rd instead.

Gave it a wash as I'm up to Scotland on saturday taking my daughter to stay at a friends for a week and I'm straight back down, with rain forcast tomorrow thought i'd best clean the hippo and my "disklok" arrived so i've fitted that and will sleep a little easier knowing the big yellow lock is at the least putting opportunist thieves off

Yesterday (Saturday 20th), I gave my best friend, her kids, and her cats a lift to their new home that's about 60 miles away. She was the first passenger in my Freelander, and now I'm going to miss her company in my Freelander.
