After an epic battle that started three hours ago, I have finally got the nearside drive shaft out.......
I would like to say, don't do more than one job at a time, as pushing a 1.75 tonne 90 up a slope into the garage is hard work!!
(Also, don't start a job in a space that is too small to get a drive shaft all the way out )

Fitted a ‘Safari style’ snorkel, discovered that the plumbing behind the engine was all loose and full of mud - now all tight, clean and water proof.
Fitted a decent Air Filter element as the old one had choked up with pieces of farm.
Cleaned the MAF and replaced the squishy inter cooler hoses with some sturdy Silicone jobbies.
Relieved to find that the suspected oil leak from the head/rocker was actually the oil draining from the engine cover foam liner when it had warmed up - it was soaked so has now been seen to....
Wondered where the coolant was going, saw the damp patch under the rad and thought the worst - but no, the rad to expansion tank pipe was cracked and dripping. Have bodged a repair until the replacement lands.

Have now got a shorter list of things to do, getting there.......

Fitted the vacuum tube between EGR and vacuum valve completing the EGR replacement ready for an MOT tomorrow.
Also changed oil and air filter.

Made some door cards , still need to add the handle and map pocket thing.

We both got dressed up like yetis and set off in the “mud ball” icy roads with a fresh layer of 3-4inches of snow.
About 10 miles down the road and no snow, (it’s picking on us:eek:) off to our friends for coffee, chat and haircuts.
Then back home no issues and the new battery is great :).
The roads here are so much smoother when the potholes are full of ice and snow:)
1 more day and no issues:)

I went into the garage with the intentions of welding a small piece of plate onto the stripped bulkhead. I was freezing cold and had a bellyache so i shut up the garage and went back inside.

Started to remove rear suspension ready for new springs and dampers. Four hours later gave up and came back indoors :(
Rusty nuts are a pain lol

I'm toying with the idea of driving in mine to the shops for a bag of gourmet crisps, ya know Kettles or Tyrells.

Further to my previous post Pics of Optimill Quick release and Quark Steering wheelIMG_20190112_132002101 (3).jpg IMG_20190112_132018555 (1).jpg IMG_20190112_132140133 (4).jpg
