Finally got the pedal box out :)

Fitted a speedo cable.

Managed to get the pointless centre seat out, after drilling out the two hidden screws.

Took it to the garage to get the windscreen fitted after I failed. They used it as a teaching point for their apprentice-" you won't see many like this any more" and it took five of us to get the damn thing in!

At the garage, we sheared off a bolt you needed to move to fit the steering guard. After hammering it out, we found the bolt was a 1/2" one , so not common in rural France. Cue next lesson for apprentice- how to bodge stuff, which in this case was half-inch the 12mm threaded bar I'd made my spare wheel holder out of!
Am clearly accepted as a proper local, as was offered cash, VAT free prices...

Took it to the petrol station for a pressure wash, and to fill the back up with 98 octane for chainsaws, butane canisters for cooking, and -25C rated diesel!

Next challenge...Ski season opens in a week. Figure out how to transport quite long skis in a 90 with a dog/tool-guard in place...

Then I guess I am getting out the Credit card and the Halfords trade card yet again.................Damn her.......I bet I do not even get a thank you..

Cheers
Yes, it does rather sound that way, buuuuut, you could always try talking to her VERY nicely and see if you can appeal to her nice side. You never know, it might work.:) Just have the cards ready, just in case.

Yeah right , I know how that goes.......would probably end up with a new battery, angel headlights and an alli intercooler.....LOL.

Cheers

Replaced two round rusty holes in the front passenger outrigger with nice big square holes. Metal cut ready to go in but it started to rain. Just praying there's enough gas left in the cylinder to get the welding completed tomorrow.

Bumper off, rusty as hell - now ground back and waiting for the red oxide, dumb irons plugged with silt - flushed and rustproofed. More bonkers legacy wiring removed from the engine bay. Second row seat brackets taken out, all bolts snapped, seat box rotten, plate patching tomorrow.
I just cannot get the floor plate screws out - they are all rusted to buggery and none of my gadgets will work!.
Rear Door seals removed & replaced (what a crap fit the new ones were - much fettling required)
Tailgate seals removed, uncovered much rot in the crossmember body mount - filler hardening overnight.....

Knackered
