Result my wheel bearing was dead. Any more play in the cage that holds the rollers on the inner race and I could have pulled them apart. So stripped the spare hub of its bearing to find a timkin so its now all swapped over and no more play. Let's see how the morning commute goes

Taken it for an MOT

Theres a slight knocking from the rear which I suspect is the A Frame ball joint/bushes hopefully this passes.

Different MOT station to last time and ive no DPF. 2001/2002 TD5s apparently are hit and miss whether they had a DPF or not so I might make it!

Having problems with me speedo. Thought it was a snapped cable but clearly isn't. Did find a bit of metal in the gear bit. Anyone know where i can get a replacement speedo drive for a td 90 transfer box?? Can't find them easily onnthe Internet. Probably writing the wrong thing. And is it a pain to replace? Any tricks for getting the gear housing out the side of the transfer box?

Cheers

Nailed the MOT with three advisors:

Broken bonnet càble - was working fine an hour earlier!
Sloppy steering
Oil leak

Back onto the preparation for painting.

Did a couple of tip runs yesterday and tried out my new towball and removable drop plate out since fitting it a couple of months ago but removed it now ready for going on the billing off road course :)

so far ..

changed the rocker cover gasket as it was spitting oil seems that it works better when torqued down correctly .. as opposed to hand tight as was the old one.
checked under neath to confirm that the UJ's are on the way out ..

will get those ordered whilst i am online now
trying to work out why the transferbox wont let me into low now :S ...

hoping its just stuck not broken.

Wellll I was going to continue trying to sort my cross member out but as soon as I got outside it ****ed it down so I gave up

Tried to diagnose my faulty rear wiper without success. So tinted a few more rear windows.

The weather is ridiculously hot here BTW :D
