Found that my compressor regulator was faulty so the second attempt at spraying went much better. Still have more runs than a Jacobs ladder though.
Also still loving the ride height after fitting the brand new defender seats.
If you have any runs you could flatten them out with 1500 then you could use cutting compound will be okay then.

I think it's reacting with the paint underneath. I've had this trouble before with other vehicles. Short of peeling the whole thing to bare metal there isn't a great deal to be done. eventually, if you keep building up the coats you get sufficiently far away from the paint underneath so it's not so conspicuous.
Single action DA, with cutting compound, rough grade and then a fine on a medium foam pad with lots of water. Then a random action DA with fine scratch paste with a water spray bottle to lube , then anti swirl paste, then a nice Carnauba wax and finally polish on a soft compound foam pad, should resolve the issue, maybe.
About 15-20 hours of the above and it might look good, hard to say without seeing it. I spent two weeks cutting back and polishing my old white Defender before I was happy with it.
As its black I would try to use 1500 like stated above and then 2000 grit wet and dry to remove the runs, always in the direction of the run though, which I'm sure you know.
One of the reasons I've painted it was because there was so little paint and it was so thin I could see most of the metal. It's my technique that needs improving.
