Nope :p these are Harley pipes so they be pricey new!

Like yer vice grips, I have two pairs of American 'Vice Grips' and when I miss laid a pair I couldn't find anything that was any where near as good. I've had one pair since I was 17 (50 years)
Like the flat jaws on them :)

They're dads, he's got two of the large ones like the one in the pic and another slightly smaller pair

Very good these ones, I've tried the Irwin and Record ones before but as you say the curved jaw is a little bit of a pain

I use mine on rusty nuts, clamp VERY tight and whack with a hammer, works every time, they never break:)

I tend to use a grinder on rusted stuff  or I'll bash a small socket on there but I used them to remove the rounded off screw in the baffle :)

One pair has the jaws ground thinner so I could free off the brake adjusters on the front of early Minis, bit of plus gas and a good bash then work back and two, its the only tool that would do it:)

fitted my rear shock droppers today and found more holes behind the original shock mount :( oh well add it to my list of welding for my week off.
now I have the shocks dropped 2" am I at less risk of breaking them if I get some articulation as I have a 2" lift by springs and front +5 shocks but just saving the moolah to get the +5 rear shocks and I have purposely stayed clear of off roading to avoid breaking the standard rear shocks but I'm thinking I should be ok with the droppers as they are now in their normal position

So you have +5 shocks on 2 inch lower to the ground mount? Your shocks will bottom out 4-5" befor they the bump stops! :(

no the rear shocks are standard length on 2" lower mounts off the chassis but I will be fitting +5 TF pin to pin shocks on the back.

I'm guessing I need the extended bump stops aswell then. I haven't yet got my head round why you would want lower bump stops when you are after more articulation

the shock is longer on a + shock when its fully closed so it bottoms out before.
So you either need + mounts to counter act it or + bump stops

have a look at my expert cad drawing below to explain and also the pic, of the shocks

think I follow you. don't forget I have a 2" spring lift so the mounts are essentially back to where they were in relation to the axle so does this still matter or is it just a case of extended bump stops if so how much bigger should the stops be I'm guessing 2" seen as it's got the 2" lift

so how would I stand with standard mounts and +5 shocks front and back and "2 drop rear mounts with +5 shocks both on a +2" spring would I just need the +2" bump or more?

Springs dont make any difference really as they will still compress down.
+5 shocks n -2 mounts need +5 bumps! You need + mounts not -

fair enough was just thinking that the further the shocks are able to extend the better the articulation and so the longer the tyres have traction. so on that grounds the dropped mounts would give more articulation. never thought about the compression side

exhaust rotted to hell, ripped off at centre joint, thinking about keeping it, sounds awesome. I also played a little tune on my rear xylophone (crossmember)

Gave it a jet wash to get the bee pooh off out n mucky grease marks off the bonnet m to do that I had to t cut n polish the bugger!!! Proper shiny bonnet now! ! :) no doubt the pic will be sideways!

Straight through the annual test! Two advisors:
Cracked number plate and rusty coils!

Was considering taking off the boge self levelling unit and putting on a standard height suspension kit - now how does that search thing work..........
