Turned this...

Into this...

And then welderised it up again....only I forgot to take a piccy of it finished so it didn't happen which is sad cause I don't want to spend tomorrow welding upsidedown AGAIN!

eventually got my bonnet open, nothing wrong with cable, but the release had got rather ****ty, so cleaned all that and lubricated it, re-routed bonnet cable slightly, cleaned under said bonnet after son had taken it playing at the local off road centre, cleaned the rest of the footwell out of mud!!!

If I were you, ditch it and fit some release pins or w/e there called while you can!

Booked mine in for it's Control Technic which is the French MOT. I know it will not pass as I need to get the foot wells done, but once failed I will have two months to get it sorted out.

Replaced the ignition switch as it wouldn't trigger the glow plugs and the key had to be held in position 3 to keep it running.

Hardest bit was the grub screw the rear of the barrel.

Found that my doner Disco gearbox has a wading plug fitted, wonder why that is??
Not been offroaded in the last four years to my knowledge:)

Fitted the wings back on, picked up a host of new parts and spent the best part of the afternoon modifying coolant pipes  bastid things

BB was that on the ambulance?

No my 109.

Was intending to paint the welded section this morning but found a few more thin bits so thought I'd do a proper job rather than what was needed just to get a ticket....especially as she might be finding a new owner soon.

She feels good and solid now :) The rest of the chassis is really very good and I've been aware of those thin sections for a while now....feels good to have them done though I probably should've just patched the bottom that the inspector spotted and gone to get a ticket.

Spend some time with Pikey messing around with the ambulance engine as well, timed it up (was a fair way out) and adjusted the mixture and she's running a lot smoother and smoke free so fingers crossed thats emissions sorted.

Hopefully broken the back of the lighting issues with Mintys help as well...tomorrow will tell a fuller story.

hats off to you :) a lot of people would do the minimum to get a ticket if they were selling it on
