My series III passed its mot last week, so I thought it was time to change the oil. Lovely day, so got under (no need to raise it up), sorted with only about half a gallon spilt. Then I thought, they advised the front brakes were out of balance, so let's adjust them. N/s no problem, but that one was ok anyway. O/s wouldn't move, so off with the wheel and drum, off with the shoes and springs, WD40 on the adjuster and freed it with a mole wrench. Then tried to remember how the shoes and springs were before they sprang off. I got it in the end, but, as always, a one hour job took half a day, and my fingernails are all black again. The joys of old cars!
 
Not much just removed rear light guards scraped all the paint off a primed them ready for paint

Did some off road stuff yesterday and my missus failed to notice the flat tyre she had for a wee while (see pic)

So i buy 2 new tyres for the 300tdi. While hanging around waiting for them to be fitted I noticed a water leak, after some further investigation and much sweary muttering to myself I find that water pump pulley has carved a nice notch through the the top of the bottom radiator hose, and its damaged the top hose. Gaffer tape and several cable ties form the basis of the temporary repair until the new hoses arrive.

Although it cant be seen very easily, it is only the boss that has been welded back on to the manifold - I didnt want to risk damaging the sensor by trying to remove the boss.
 
Drove it to work and noticed a strange new rattling sound.
Had a look and a prod underneath, couldn't find anything.
I suppose I'll find out what it is when it falls off.
 
Well I'm getting a new shed to store all my landy bits 10x14! The old one was falling to bits and was only 4x6 or something... so I got a 2" ring spanner (closest thing i had to a sledg hammer) and smashed the fukker to bits and burned it to the ground!!!!:fighting::flame2::violent::mil83:
 
Cleaned and fitted the steering box

Finished up the refitting of the painted parts, had to cut the pattern bottom hose about a bit to get it to fit, but all sorted. Landy is back earning its living again, been up the field with mineral licks already :)
