Had to do a trip to Tewksbury today, to collect a family member. My place to there and back is 355 miles.
Last minute decision this morning - sun was out, picked the sunglasses up, ignored the BMW and grabbed the F2 keys…

Lovely ride there and back in it today 😁
I keep putting off a trip to Cheltenham to look at a BMW i3, which we think would make a good replacement for our Audi. Problem is I'm kinda board of driving hundreds of mile round trips, as I've been heading to London and back every other weekend for about 3 months now. :(

Should have said - I could have popped in and got some pics for you 😁
Thanks. I've actually got pictures, but I really need to check important things that are known failure points on the vehicle.
I know the driver's seat is dirty, as is the driver's door card, so those will need replacing.

I'm going to have to get up there before it sells to someone else, but it's been on sale for a while, which might be an alarm bell to an issue.

Did the inline stat mod. It's the auto and struggled to pop it in (ooh er) the normal hose so used Andyfreelandy's 32mm to 38mm hose and back again approach. Worked a charm! Running at normal temperature now, I swear the gear changes are smoother too!

… not mine (now); daughters F1 td4.

Told her to bring it over this afternoon for a quick IRD and rear diff oil change, ready for a road trip this Saturday 😉

Then I got the ‘oh, it’s making a weird noise, like a rattle, and it’s getting worse’ 🙄

Did the oil changes, then had a good look round. Sounded like it’s coming from the left of the engine bay (looking in). And then I spot lots of nice shiny metal filings around the belts area… too late/dark to look any further other than a cursory check with a crowbar (couldn’t spot any loose pulleys). Clearly something metal is grinding away in that area, so one to contemplate.
Hoping it’s not a huge job, but knowing my luck…
