said " sorry " to it ..
one possible mistake on my part,
plus a 'not-tried-this-one-yet' fueling tweak, now lets see how it drives,
then a 30mile exceptionally heavey-right-foot [for me] drive .. with hillclimbs,
resulted in a leaking water pump gasket / seal.
:(:(:(:(:(:mad::confused::confused::confused::confused:
back to the docs surgery .. soonish.
have applied a bandaid .. looks to have worked for now.
though .. can only be only a temporary fix.
.
though .. it occured at 200k+mileage,
neighbours yeti coolant pump leaked at 50k miles.

Well today I have had opportunity to add a post to this thread following a few days of posts of jobs being done by a learned friend on my car.

Assisted with the fitting of a poorly manufactured fuel tank cradle which needed considerable modification, and the fitting of a refurbed subframe and diff assembly. Also pressed out rear bearings in readiness for new ones next week.

Coming along nicely.
I hope you took biscuits!

Well ... Finally back on the road. My first clutch replacement - done. Been on blocks since the end of August! What a phaff waiting for one part to come from old blighty! That O ring to connect the IRD to the G'box - ordered in early September and waited patiently.... then get an email on the 25th of Oct' to say it was on its way - having been returned to sender by Royal Mail... What the ...!!!

Anyway - fired up first go and all worked as it should. Very nice to drive it again :)

Well done on the clutch change.

I have one of those O rings in my stash of FL1 parts. I ordered 2 when I last did an IRD, as the postage was basically the same as the packet contents.

Finally sorted out the weeping thermostat. Bit of a pain to do but easy enough with patience; though trying to battle daylight is always a problem this late in year.

Annoying thing was its was getting to temp, no fault with the parts, just unpredictably leaking (1L worth in one day / 0.5L per week the other.)

Either way, its done and happy ready for the winter with a fresh Water pump too.

I thought I'd better not, as it would have been my 4th that week. My favourite is a double sausage and egg McMuffin meal with OJ. but like I said I'd had 3 of them already in the week.
Now you are talking! Had that exact meal yesterday morning… in the FL!

So after start up and a test drive I had the SRS lamp on. I thought I may have bumped the ABS sensor in my work getting the g'box / clutch work done. No problem, took the sensor our have it all a clean and refitted it.

Now I have the 3 amigos :( Everything was tikity-boo prior to the clutch replacement. I struggle to believe that the brake switch on the brake pedal has gone bung.

Ideas please?

Took 'er to work today, 40 miles each way (80 miles if you needed me to tell you), so a good way to test the hoses, now it could just be how this works, but it was 7 Celsius and initially driving and temps were great after installing the new Thermostat and Silicone hoses, but once I hit the motorway, unless I remained in 4th gear the car would NOT stay up to temp, it kept dropping slightly I couldn't tell you how much exactly but noticeable, could this just be how it is when it's cold, or would this be a result of the silicone hoses being much better at dispersing heat naturally 🤔 the lack of combustion on cylinder 4 could also cause this?

Said goodbye to it. The 1, that was. It's now gone on to someone new
I recently did the same - though it’s been sold given to my daughter.
So keeps returning with “can you just…” 😂
It’s nice to see it every few weeks, and she uses it as her daily - loves it. And I can still have a drive 😉

If I’m honest, the 2 is much nicer to drive, even though it’s only 5 years younger, and I couldn’t see it sat on the drive not being used enough. And I couldn’t justify 3 cars.

Is that a typo? Was it the SRS light or ABS?

Is it one or both of the 1st/reverse sensor wires on the gearbox loose?

Now that I'm fully committed to the FL2 I'm exploring some of the items inside. Today I've been looking at the USB port. I took a spare I had around, empty, and put some MP4 files on it. It then said it failed to read device. Brought it back to my PC which called me FAT.

So a few options to try, I think the stick is FAT but next is FAT32. Looking to have a little video library onboard without filling the glovebox with DVD cases
