Big brother is indeed the correct term. We are all watching with interest !!😀

He is just going to ‘settle in’ for a week or two, before some of the planned work begins…

A brand new rear sub frame (with suspension arms) is on its way already. I was made aware of this before I bought it, and though not an ‘immediate requirement’, it will be good to get it ticked off prior to winter (and next mot).
Whilst I do that, I’ll be getting the ‘scrabble fix’ mod to the Haldex control module also, so that’ll be another big tick.

As you know, the previous owner has already done a lot of work to it, and it’s just recently had a full service along with belts etc., so it should then be some TLC and routine maintenance along the way for a while.

He’ll need some new rubber fairly soon, so also looking at options for a nice AT set. I have Geo 15’s on the F1 and they are great, but will be considering others.

Pics will follow, naturally.

Sounds good. Don't go General Grabber unless you want to find out about 4 wheel understeer in the wet !!
Funny, I said the same thing yesterday.
The Yokohama Geolander 015 are probably the best value at the moment.
I must admit that I like the factory Goodyear Wrangler AW, especially as configuring the TR and DSC systems was based on those tyres.
Michelin Latitude Cross would be another I'd use on the FL2, although rather expensive.

Yes - we were chatting yesterday about tyres…
I’m waiting on a contact who may be able to get me BFG T/A KO2 at a very reasonable (discounted) price. I must admit, I like the look of them, but have heard feedback more than once that they are not great in the wet.

I have the Geo 15’s on my F1, and I do like them, so they would be the fall back option probably.

Finally got myself a remapped Freelander 🤨
It ran really well as it was and I wasn’t expecting a big difference so wasn’t going to get it done but the mrs as always complained about the way it gets out of the busy junction at the end of the estate and the way the local Homer Simpson’s ( we are 3 miles from a well known nuclear facility) running in to the back of her when she finally gets out they literally sit on the rear bumper 😡 if you can make it to the official speed of 80mph on there way home from basically living Homers life
the map as smoothed the power out and definitely better but 🤷
I am tad disappointing if I am honest I have only done 7m in traffic and the rest as been towing a trailer so hopefully I am a bit more enthusiastic about it tomorrow on some empty roads

Sod the diesel! Make it leccy if you want decent acceleration. :p

Got the first parts delivered, so I can continue with the care of the F2 invested by @Nodge68.
New hub nuts are on the way, and genuine drop links have been ordered also (because why not).
Whilst it’s all off, I’ll take the opportunity to treat the underside with a wax spray also.

Off for a little light-reading of a manual or 2 😁
