And actually stopped to take the picture
Really good mpg shame about the coolant loss
Unfortunately when I fitted the replacement head in November 21, I used a BGA gasket, and some time later, discovered that my torque wrench was under-reading by 25Nm, which is a large discrepancy for an initial torque setting of 60Nm. I don't know if it's the HG at fault, or the massive under torque of the bolts, or a combination of both, but the result is coolant pressurising when under heavy loads. It's absolutely fine cruising on the M-way at a steady 65, but on the hills of the A303/A30 the coolant gets blown out the tank, requiring more coolant every 40 miles or so.Water injection is a good way of upping the MPG !
Still it got us there and back, so it's not getting any worse.
If only it was water injection Andy. Unfortunately it's going out the overflow, and not getting into the engine at all.
I can't even work out what cylinder is the cause, as coolant doesn't get into the combustion chamber.
The MPG is pretty impressive for a 2 ton brick shaped vehicle.
