Currently 2/3rds of the way through changing my starter contacts on the TD4. It's gone well so far but just can't manipulate the motor back in! Time to wash the blood off my fingers, have an IPA and sunday roast before attempting again in an hour.
No further news.

Did the IPA turn into a few :)

Good luck. Been there done that. The FL2 is just as bad to install.
Well sporty
how is the light interior holding up ?
Just fine, but I don't get into it in oily overalls.

All done, but there was alot of swearing, maybe because I did have to resort to a second IPA for motivation. Managed to get it in in the end but I found it much more difficult than last time and my hands are in a right state.

Can't complain too much though. £20 spent rather than a garage fitting a new motor at £xxx.

This is getting exciting, an LZ smuggling ring

Can we have virtual car chases and shoot outs?

Do we have to paint our regular sized Freelanders black to be part of this V-OCG?
It's bad enough trying to dodge HMRC but to avoid the wrath of the DUP and have a bonfire at my door I'll need to use my secret handshake and swear allegiance to the late Dr Paisley.
They don't like the protocol (or whatever it's called now) that makes it possible for us in this part of the UK to buy from Europe free of import duty.
I suspect many of you in GB are pretty jealous of the situation. 😜

I find the NI situation so utterly confusing at the moment that I couldn't tell you if I'm jealous or not.

I suspect 99.9% of those demonstrating against the current setup have no clue what it means either. They're blindly following politicians like sheep. Sadly it's always been that way for both sides here. :(

Unfortunately some will always belittle the other “side “ this might be a simple comment about bonfires or handshakes to more sincere stuff like shooting a unarmed off duty police man with his son at a football game

my family are originally from Northern Ireland and I have been over lots of times especially for the motorcycling ( outstanding road race)
I think most people don’t care much about cheap car parts from EU as basically they would get them over the border anyway
No checks on cars going over ether way

It’s the medical supplies and food that as been used as a weapon against the UK in general and they are stuck in the crossfire
and feel they are been left behind by us
Which in all fairness is justified in part

To put it in context I live on the Scottish border and if the SNP got there way and became separate country of 5.7m people
Would I be expected to have different rules to London Manchester.., because I can literally drive over the border and do business over there? I don’t think so

Sorted the cloudy headlights out tonight it’s been nearly 5 years since the last time it was done and I am
really please will them , and the old lass now looks 1/2 her age if you say 15ft away and keep squinting

then down to the beach with the dogs to see the sun drop down behind the Isle of Man

Passed the 1000 mile mark in the Scottish Highlands since last Thursday…..Isle of Mull today.
Hope the VCU lasts (see ‘Another VCU Fred’).

The back brakes have been driving me mad with a constant squeaking
new every thing sorted it for a bit last year or the year before that I honestly can’t remember !
it’s basically been standing over the winter and not getting the mileage so that doesn’t help I suppose

so I have done a stripe down and clean
its all free and even wear but the back plate as seen better days so I have wire brush it and cleaned them up
my question is should I have painted them or ? I am now wondering it’s all going to peel and make a right mess

Chucked a load of stuff in the boot to save carrying it up to the flat, just keep using it for storage at the moment not that there is anything wrong with it but I’ve got a P38 now and haven’t got round to putting the freelander up for sale yet.
