4h of my day ruined tbh
This is why as the years are creeping up I am slowly but surely turning in to a grumpy old git ! things I can’t understand no longer interest me but upset and confused instead
Next time it’s going to a garage!!
Lol, you'll be really grumpy when they bill you for the 4 hours they spend on it

TBH modern cars are supposed to be good at identifying faults because they'll throw a code for what's broke. But when the diag stuff goes wrong, its many times magnitude worse! The F2 is a prime example where the indicator switch (or what ever) is diagnosed as a BCM fault (or what ever) and after a series of VERY expensive "fixes" you've still got the same problem!

I used a 3D printer to print a bodge to “fix” the too high clutch pedal on my FL1 1.8. I really needs a new replacement master/slave kit, but instead I’ve printed and installed a pedal stop to prevent the pedal rising too far.

Seems to be working a treat - the .stl file is available on request! ;)

I like this. You've identified a problem that you know will need to be fixed sometime, but have applied a bit of ingenuity to keep you going for a while, which won't do any damage. And you've shared the idea.

saying goodbye to the original alternator,
looks to have died yesterday .. 200k+ miles ..
was wondering how long it would last ;-/

well .. i can view voltage output via a dash mount 'scangaugeII' ..
voltage were dropping below 'normal' ..
was down to 11.6v at low rpm .. normal being 13.9 / 14.1 ..
depending if ac. and/or ptc heater being used.
'n battery warning light were illuminating ..
no sound of slipping belt .. they were replaced not long ago.

brought battery inside to trickle charge ..
battery seems to be ok .. ..
.

Fixed my rear door not opening! The wire in the handle had broken away from the connector. So I bodged it with a choc block for now. Should hold for a few years!

It's started..:D. Not had it a week and the drivers door auto fold mirror has lost it's fold. or at least its auto..

If they get knocked, they can become free from the drive dog.
However it's also possible for the fold mechanism to seize. I've got a less than smooth fold motor, which I'll look at once the weather improves.

It was a bit clicky before but I was also waiting for 'weather' to improve.

Unfortunately there's no repair kit available for the FL2, at least not one I've found.
If the fold mechanism can't be made to work again, the mirror will need replacing, if power fold is still needed.

The mirrors on my SE are kinda floppy so I was thinking of swapping them for the ones off my S.
Not auto folding but are in a decent shape

I'm a partially reformed blacksmith, inveterate bodger, and Ive had 10 years of bangernomics, I cant believe there's nothing to be done..:D

Thanks - it took a couple of iterations, but printing a 20mmx25mmx25mm cube with a 15mm base seems to be doing the job quite well. I'll post some photos and share the file if anyone else needs it :) [It's only a money saving idea if you already happen to have access to a 3 printer! LOL]
