I got a power file sander attachment for my angle grinder pretty cheap from Banggood. It is probably also available on eBay and other sources.

The limited access around the turbo should have kept things interesting for you. It isn't as bad as some other cars, though.

It wasn't too bad. I kept the housing in place as that is different in the Rover 25, strangely those four bolts that hold the turbo to the housing are 3/8 imperial. Didn't expect to see that in a car built in 2000.

How does the oil get from the vacuum pump at the rear of the engine to the alternator at the front??
It's an L series engine so the vacuum pump and alternator run though each other.

How does the oil get from the vacuum pump at the rear of the engine to the alternator at the front??

The vacuum pump for the L series is on the alternator, and has its own oil supply and drain from the main oil gallery on the engine. If the oil seal between the vac pump and alternator fails, then oil can get into the alternator.;)

Fitted the Renault 5 thermostat mod. It was an easy enough job to do. Didn’t need to take anything apart to get to it. I dare say fitting th,e proper thermostat would be better but didn’t think I would be able to do that myself. Works fine now though. Took it for a spin and temp gauge now sits tight at just before 12.

Had the Kalahari G4 promotion vehicle up in the air to continue replacing brake pipes and assessing for Mot.
Pipe over rear axle is tricky, all clips broke and getting new ones in is a fiddle and a half!
Wire brushed and painted tank cradle.
Thought the fuel tank was sealed with a canister?? Smell of petrol fumes at rear. I guess it shouldn't smell??

Will check tank sender and pump gasket when it is back on the ground.
Any other ideas? No visible fuel just a whiff.

Yelled at it when the driver's window started crunching after I tried to wind it down

All six windows being openable at once appears to be too much to ask

Was last night. But I sold my beautiful condition Sport 18" wheels. :(
Unfortunately they don't fit the FL2, so there's no point in keeping them hanging around.

1. Had the AC failure diagnosed as a coil in the compressor. And a leak in the condenser. Disappointing, but expected.

2. Tried and failed to find some 3 door outer window seals to replace bubbled ones. Can’t post In wanted yet so can’t ask in right place. They seem to be as common as unicorn droppings.

3. Did manage to buy a soft top and a gear lever gaiter.

One new regulator later and I can shove my fat face in the drive through again

Now for these front lamp guards...

I've put the recently purchased 096 battery for Freelander FL1 on charge, ready to go into the FL2. I also took delivery of a few fuel system essentials for the FL2.
