Recon VCU fitted :D

Now got autobox issues after a long drive. Clunking into gear when setting off with a delay of a couple of secs. Found the recon box has been originally filled the DexIII and recent service would have topped up with recommended Texaco N402 ATF!!! Booked back in to drain autobox and refill with ATF402! :(

Have you had the filter changed? and sensors checked

Air, fuel, pollen, oil filters changed. Haven't checked the sensors though. Which ones are you suggesting?

Spent three days on scratch removal, paint correction (wheels n'all), and a bloody good detail. :behindsofa: neighbours must think im nuts lol

Took the tail/indicator lamp units out so I could remove the water and fix the dodgy bulb connection. I also drilled 2 small drain holes in the bottom of each unit to stop them filling with water in the future.

Spent 4 hours trying to take the ns ball joint out

Lets just say the Rivets were a nightmare but MAN won just lol also replace ns anti roll bar have the os one to do tomorrow

Also replaced front diff mount

Drove 280 miles in the worst traffic ever.....took 6 hours. :(

Done 670 miles in the last 4 days, with a mixture of country lanes, motorway and town. And well happy with the Hippo, even averaged 40 mpg. :D

Good:

Fitted a remote to the FBH, nice and warm for the winter.

Just need to work out how to get the interior fan to come on with the remote as well.

Bad:

Found that my top intercooler hose is covered in oil, think it's probably got a hole in it where it rubs on the intake manifold screw. New one ordered off eBay.

Finally got round to fitting my new rear brake drums and all 4 x 30mm spacers..

Rear hubs..

Cleaned the front seat backs, the rear door cards and the tread plates with Autoglym interior cleaner then coated with Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber care.

Just the carpets to get done now as they are very grubby.

Trying to get rid of the used car smell.

Already done the beige leather and front and boot door cards along with the dash and all the black outside bits.

Having been down a muddy chalk track, I now need to get the car washed.

Having only just bought mine, still getting to know it... But my first job was to dry out the boot storage thingy which was waterlogged, I also removed the useless and snapped lock mechanism from here.. It's getting a good Hoover later too and some autoglym on the interior I think
