NOT the red one - that will bugger the system.!
LR recommend Pentosin CHF 202, but others will meet the ford spec.
It is a green fluid.
Its got red in it so I topped it off with ATF

FL1 is auto trans fluid which is red / brown. Think OP has FL2.

Thanks chaps. I remember it being ATFu now. I'll have to revert to noises and play being down to age and mileage then.
I’d be flushing it PDQ, several times, with the correct PS fluid, and keeping my fingers crossed.Its got red in it so I topped it off with ATF
Also change the reservoir bottle when you do it - it has a small filter inside.
… I s’pose it ‘could’ be just very old green fluid that has turned a brownish colour over the years. Either way, get it switched asap.
The fluid is clean and definitely red

The incorrect (red) fluid can damage the PS system. The pump is particularly fussy I believe.
