I'm not going to lie to you, while I admired the workmanship of your previous upholstry with the brown vinyl door cards, I disliked the colour, but the black is more to my tastes, and the finish is very good, so this gets a double thumbs up from me!

Hi there!!! I think you get confused, I never upholstered the doors before, I just made a rigid rear tray. Anyway thanks for your kind comment.

I'm impressed. That's a cracking job. I have the Alpaca interior and the cloth bit on the front door cards is looking too tatty for me so I might follow your lead if I can find some decent matching leatherette.

Thank you very much. It is laborious but it renews the look a lot, it also removes a certain smell of rotten foam.
Good luck and don't forget to glue with temperature resistant glue.

It looks much better than the old cloth.
I put a relief in the gap around the upholstery, so you cover what you don't want to see ... some small finishing flaw. This relief is unglued because I have tried it in different colors and it improves a lot. Maybe in the future I will change it for another color and aye it is very easy to remove and put on.

Looks amazing mate, I'm with Jayridium on this, double thumbs up.
Well done.

The TD4 failed it's MOT today on the following:-

1. Rear diff mount rubbers ( new mounts ordered )
2. Exhaust bracket ( new back box and rubber mounts ordered )
3, Milking to both front headlights ( very slight this is, think they were taking the wee wee )

Looks like I have some bits to sort in my spare time next week ha

You are right, I was getting confused, Anubis did a similar thing on his car, with beige and brown, but I'll stand by my comments, I didn't like his cars colours, but that's personal taste/opinion, I do however genuinely admire the standard of workmanship and quality of finish both of you guys have achieved.

I have a sudden thought last night that I didn't remember to remove the locking wheel nut key from my FL2, before taking it for a test drive.

I've had a good look though all my tools this morning, in the hope I was mistaken, but alas, I think I've driven off with it still attached.
I've walked the first half mile of my test route this morning too, but didn't find it.:(

This isn't really the end to the diff failure saga I was hoping for.
Annoyingly I don't have the key number, so I've no idea what key will fit.

Edit.
I found it, where I turned around, thank goodness.

Next job, front brakes.

Haven't been near it a a few months so thought I'd better have a look.
Recharged the battery (it was flat) and cleaned the mould off the steering wheel.
After refitting the battery it started very strongly first time. Handbrake was stuck but that's pretty standard.
Currently running with the heat on full blast to hopefully dry it out after spraying and washing off the mould.
Resumed my search for some heated front seats (it doesn't have rear ones).

It is bad news although I hope you have a solution. I think I remember that Audi dealers had a box with master glasses to find out the anti-theft key number. I don't know if this will help you or maybe LR or other specialists have it.
Good luck friend.

The solution was to walk to where I turned around, and there it was, sitting at the side of the road. It occurred to me that centrifugal force would likely keep it in place, so thought I'd walk to where I turned around. Was a good call, as I saw it from 50 yards away, so disaster averted. :)

I'm glad. I'm very happy for you.

I left mine in once. Fortunately I remembered I hadn't put it away in it's usual safe spot. I pulled over and there it was, sitting pretty, still attached to the nut. PHEW!

That was lucky. This isn't the first time I've left the key on the nut. But I'm going to paint it fluorescent yellow or something, so I can spot it more easily.

I took this picture yesterday, at the point where I turned round.

Little did I know that the key fell off, just 20 feet behind me, when I took the picture. :(

Pair of LUCKY senile old fools I'd say.

On that front, there have been numerous occasions where people have asked questions on here which have prompted the following type of response from me, "I've run mine for several years like that and never had a problem" or "I've always done it such and such way" etc, etc, then deleted my response before posting, for fear of what ever it was being discussed occuring after. Not that I'm saying anything there Ali... *cough cough*
