@Zed. that look like a very clean 200tdi engine. How many miles? Good one's are becoming hard to find now...

I've no idea on millage, a friend bought it from a dealer @ Newbury a few years ago and was told it had done ~90,000 BUT thats always a leap-of-faith believing such claimso_O
when we got the engine to his garage I 'test-ran' it on the floor / engine hoist with good results so it's a known runner:cool:
2 years later I bought it:oops:

If you don't want the steering pump I would buy it from you ;)

thankyou but no. will be fitting pas on the Ninety so needing it all:)

just missing the pas steeringbox.....

Rich.

Thought the steering was getting a bit wishy washy the other day, so this morning had the doris waggle the steering wheel while I had a look underneath. Bit of play in the drop arm ball joint, so drop arm off and with the help of my Britpart droparm ball joint repair tool stripped and re-built the joint. While I was at it I drilled and threaded the bottom plate to fit a grease nipple I just happened to have a supply of in stock. Refitted drop arm and road tested, job jobbed.:):):)

Just for a change, everything went as planned, even the drop arm came off easy(ish), total time 2 1/2 hours without rushing.

Applied Lanoguard to the renovated chassis today. Hope it’ll last another 35 years now.
HNY everyone.

So this is where we are today. C post out, obviously it wanted a fight as only one of the bolts was compliant. The top end of the C post is mint and YRM do a bottom section which should go on nicely once I’ve drilled out the spot welds. I think the seat box end is acceptable but I might look to see if there is a replacement part while its exposed.

Shoehorning the mighty v8 into the 90. It fought me all the way. Had hoped to get the gearbox sitting on the mounts, but it was refusing to play ball so I walked away and will return tomorrow feeling calmer :)

Found out the hi/low transfer lever does not work.
Oh well leave it for week till it warms up.

As some silly tw@t broke the hi-low lever taking the engine out the doner  I’ve had to swap the hi-low linkage as it was broken. There’s a flimsy alloy coupling on it that was broken on mine

Nice shed...

Wish you hadn't mentioned V8's. I was looking at 90 V8's over the weekend and am getting the urge for a V8 Landy. Thinking a pre-1991 V8 carefully modified/correctly set up would make an amazing rally bus. One rally I've yet to do is the LEJoG. LEJoG in a 3.5ltr 90 would be huge fun.
