Weathers dog pants here too. Still gonna have to go out for a drive, my 4 year old son needs entertaining, so will take a drive through the peaks.

Finally emptied my fifth tank of fuel. Maths done. I'm averaging 319 miles per tank of diesel. That's 26.9 mpg. Hopefully when I get rid of the mud terrain tyres and fit all terrains, I might make up the 2mpg that I'm loosing. Which let's face it, ain't bad for a 30 year old engine that hasn't been rebuilt. Oh and that's on a mixture of motorways, dual carriageways, A roads, B roads, up and down steep peak district and Penines hills and from Barnsley to Sheffield every day.

Why do you think you are losing 2mpg?

Cheers
Because big chunky mud terrain tyres are not as fuel efficient as all terrains and definately nowhere near as good as normal road tyres. I'll get a more accurate mileage in the morning when I refuel and see exactly how much fuel I've used.

I took the old girl out for a drive ;) did around 25 miles just to get her warmed up  filled her up and put her back in the garage.
I then did a load out and put everything back and strapped it down ready for tomorrows fun :D
Spares, fluids, tools and recovery gear.....
RAC on standby o_O

OK, It just seemed very specific that 28.9MPG was your target.

Cheers

I took my drivers seat out as it was full of water. Hope that counts as prep.

Cheers
I think thats probably all that is required. Unfortunately I tend to strip it down and rebuild it every time I go out
(I have only packed a spare water pump, fuel pump, belts and UJ's this time) :D:D

What engine?

I looked at my landy through the front room window today as the rain came down and wondered how much water will be dripping through the headlining and down the A pillor into the footwell, I will find out when I get in it tomorrow.

Chucked some fuel treatment in cos she has to have an emissions test next week, now an Italian tune up for a few days.
Emissions (pollution controle) every 12 months here, mot (CT) every 2 years. 200Tdi with 161k miles on it, Might pass but valve clearances are way overdue so we will have to see.
