Finally back out on the road for a quick shake down drive.
Found the Diff lock switch has an intermittent fault, what a pain to access. One for the next part order along with an oil pressure switch. The oil light stopped coming on at ignition, I guess in the many years off the road oil sediment has built up. Time for a new one along with oil and filter change next time.

During some eBay perusing, I found a dash top pod with switches and USB port. It was duly purchased. Now for the inevitable questioning from Mrs K when it arrives in the post!

I’ve been after one for some time though.:D

Took it out into the forest for a lesson in foraging with a mate who is a chef. Lovely day to be driving the forest tracks, calm, sunny and mild, (16 c).
Filled 2 baskets with muchrooms of various sorts, wish I'd taken my camera, some huge things, Cep du Bordeaux about 20cm in dia. Now we sort of know what we are doing might go out on our own tomorrow for another go. Might be best if we let him identify any we get before we eat them though. Something like 75% of all we saw today were either nasty, or downright dangerous. These were some of the good ones. Pics taken off the net.

Yesterday, fitted a Gwyn Lewis breather system...found out the reason for the rear axle oil seal leak, the breather was mullered!

Sick of having to move the high lift out of the way, when getting gear out of the back of the Landy. So I have fitted a bracket and foot plate today. View attachment 224365
Wait till someone figures out they removing the handle clamp will drop the handle down & lock you in....

(I did have an electric isolator switch on the front of the landrover till kids pressed it at the traffic lights)

Lol. Yes I have thought about that too. And will secure the handle stay when I’m out and about. I tried it below the top bracket but it’s to loose.

I’ll come up with something to slow sticky fingers down. :)

Thanks. Just had a new chassis this year, so it’s getting there. Need to save up for a couple of galv SP doors now. :-/

Believing in the hierarchy of waste, I have fitted a used winch bumper today. A few expletives and some fettling, and now attached. :)

The top grill won’t open or close when the wheel carrier is open. Due to the right hand latch clashing with the wheel. :-(

Guess a standard defender wheel would be ok:)
Move the catch and the latch then ;).

By how much if you rounded the square corners would the spare swing a bit more out of the way enough?
Or removed the little retaining thingy on the bottom.

Looks nice though :) when you fitting the winch?

Thanks mate. The latch retainer needs to go up about 150mm, but then it would look odd looking at it from the rear unless I do the other side? Not sure at the moment, I was thinking of putting the hinges on the right hand side, and having it open sideways rather than up and down? Will think about it...
Not changing the tyres though, the piggy bank is empty at the moment lol

@pushmi-pullu how about removing the anti Luce brackets & top brackets & fitting the door to the wheel carrier?
Few bits of wide flat metal should hold it.
Bit of Angle on the inner roof to stop it flexing inwards. Could re fix a lock on if needed
