After fitted the new ign. switch this morning I noticed a pool of coolant underneath so popped the bonnet & the fuel cooler had sprung a leak from the end cap:mad:. As my FL is out of action I had to borrow a mates car so SHMBO could drive to Bedford to pick some replacement O-rings which I've fitted tonight. I need it next week as I have a LR driving experience which was a Xmas pressie from SHMBO :).
These things don't 'arf try your patience.

I tried out my new TopDon ArtiDiag 600S diagnostic tester on my 2001 Disco 2. It was utterly CR@P! It basically reads and clears faults. So many glitches while using it for live data on my older Land Rover.
It worked extremely well on my wife’s 2011 X5 though.

For now I’ll stick with my Nanocom or Foxwell for my D2.

I have the Artidiag800, they were ever designed to work on early Landrovers, which have their own version of OBD2.

After over a year, I finally got the time to fit my new LOF clutch kit, and fit the gearbox and TF box. New o rings on the intermediate shaft, seals done, and just ran a flush of ATF through the boxes. Draining overnight and filling them with new oil tomorrow. Nw engine crane paid for itself by using it to fit my box, through the gearstick opening, and a new clutch and DMF on the lads 90. Got a clutch to do now on the spare Rav4, as the missus burnt it out totally.

Cleaned off the handbrake plate, and refitted with a new fitting kit, shaft seal, handbrake cable, and shoes. Only problem is, I fitted a new 20mm nyloc on the output shaft, and wanged it up with a battery impact gun, then torqued to 107 foot lbs. The shaft then seems very stiff to turn. Wondering if Ive done some damage to the bearing.

Gearbox should be drained now, so got to fill it up with oil later. Need to buy a new front prop, as mine is very notchy. Took apart the joint to find a few of the cups dry, and have rusty needle bearings.

Spent the day under the Disco... Wish I hadn't, as Ive found the chassis isnt very good. Tin worms have been eating my car again. Scraped off the surface rust, and applied half a litre of Vactan on most of the chassis. Started welding plates to the worst parts, but ran out of wire.....typical.

Picked up a new front prop shaft, fuel filter, doughnut, and rear Lemforder drop links today. Not had time to fit them though.

Its been sat for a year with the box out... Got front axle seals, a front wheel bearing, few plates on the chassis, just to get to the MOT stage. Just seen the road tax prices... I'd forgotten they were that high.

Plus the watts linkage looks like its never had attention from the day it left the factory.... another one for the list.

Not to mention the way over taxed fuel prices !
