Took it to Kwik Fit for 5 tyres. They look great, but unfortunately the spare no longer fits in its hole.
Will probably get a swingaway carrier if I can find one for a reasonable price.

After a week in t’Algarve, nothing better than changing out the rear brakes….

That’s better…..

Replaced the spare wheel bracket today, for an extended one I bought from x rated products on eBay. Finally got my spare steel with terrain tyre on the back now. Easy enough job after all… Just waiting on my steel wheel nuts to arrive now.

Fitted new rear bump stops & three rubber grommets to the eng. cover as they were split/perished, checked tyre pressures & all the fluid levels (only the T/Box oil needed a top up). Checked the fairly new inj. harness/wiring/ECU plugs for oil, thankfully all clean on that front so all ready for the 400 mile round trip to Wales tomorrow, just not looking forward to the fuel bill:eek:.

Well I've been trying to get my D1 V8 back on the road for 3 yrs now. But after 2 major surgeries on my spine in 2020 & 2021, Covid nearly killing me last year & another major surgery on my spine last Friday I'm struggling to get anywhere with it. Its had (before I was crocked) Rear axle rebuild, full shocks & springs, transfer box refurbed, auto box refurbed, engine rebuilt, offside inner wing sorted, full chassis rubdown & repaint, new swivels & associated seals. Getting really bored doing nothing so hobbled to the garage this aft, had a look at the old girl in a sorry state and wrote a list of things to do to finish her..........

My 2001 disco failed the MOT on anti-roll bar ties and front axle knuckle ball joints last week, I replaced all 4 ball joints and anti-roll bar tie rods.
Not a bad job really just done a bit differently....

Now I've done the job once, it's time to make a proper hydraulic removal/installation press...

Fitted a rear carrier to my 2010 D4 this weekend.
Was thinking about a roof rack but worried the TV aerial would be in the way, but when I went to measure it I noticed the panoramic glass has cracks which are spreading.
I drive 4 cars so probably cheaper to not go through insurance.
Got some quotes - Autoglass seem to be £300 cheaper than National Windscreens.

D2 failed the MOT yesterday:( on O/S fr. suspension spring broken, although I haven't taken the wheel off I have turned it from lock to lock but can't see where it's broken. Two new springs on order & I've had some turrets since last Sept. to fit anyway so I'll do them altogether. Otherwise no advisories

I paid £1100:eek: for my 1/4 chassis to be done last month but I'm well chuffed with it (just got to find time to paint the centre bit ), what sort of money for the 1/2 to be done if you don't mind me asking.

In the process of buying a caravan for this year

Finally got hold of a swan neck hitch at the right price so took it apart and refurbished the item

all good and operates well

That sounds a like a fair price considering there's a lot more work involved. Do/will they treat the inside of the chassis once it's done ?

They state the chassis is sprayed with a black etch primer and under sealed with Schulz.

I will probably get some waxoyl on the inside myself to be safe
