Still got all the skin on my knuckles, just a case of taking a bit of care. It's not as if I'm a stranger to the inside of the door, I've had to get in there a few times now. This time it was because one of the little plastic wheels which run in a channel in the regulator mechanism had broken up; it's a known problem, so nothing new.
The reseating of the window frame was because I didn't take so much care last time I had the door in bits.
Yeah, It's good to get these little jobs sorted, and while it's only little jobs to do, I'm happy.

one of the jobs on my list is the rear bumper , having to come off some time to replace the rear parking sensor loom, but not worrying about that at the moment , seeing theres horrible little clips that have to come off , inc the hidden ones :rolleyes:

Nothing do I have the only one that's trouble free ??? Gonna fit some goodies soon tho dash cam front and rear so can use it for reversing if needed and new power sockets adding some nice new ones with USB and battery read out built in, just because .......

have noticed lately whilst sitting in traffic etc , of more of the dash cams that clip onto the rear view mirror, quite like them as there unobtrusive ,

little while ago i put in a small power socket extension lead, along with those usb ports

just got to tidy it all up and get all the wires hidden

Make sure that the view it gets is cleared by the wipers in bad weather and can see well if you have a tinted strip at the top of the screen ...

Ta ... I've seen a few tucked up out of the way ok in good clear conditions, but when you need it ... who knows ...
 
I've fitted a new cb aerial today ready for its swim and mud with Danny tomorrow. Got a couple of river crossings lined up :p

So how did you manage speedo correction for any tyre size on a D2?

Ah, thats only for the nanocom itself, the unit I built corrects the speed on the instrument cluster speedometer.
8000 pulses per mile
2.2222 pules per mph
Take the pulses into a microcontroller and output the correct number of pulses to the speedo. 65 on the speedo was actually 70mph, but 65 on the speedo before was 63mph, so I applied a rough correction factor of 0.92 (to the time period, not the frequency, this was actually calculated by working out the ratio in circumference) and then threw it through a transistor back to 12v.

Took a couple of weeks to get right, but it works fantastically.

Alternatively, you could use a Satnav, that will show if you are out or not. Then remember it................LOL

I use a GPS "head up" display reflecting on the windscreen. The original speedo is the legal requirement.
