ok does anybody know if you can buy the little brass inserts that fit each end of the bumper, they quite happily unscrew from the plastic as they are seized on the bolt. They don't like mole grips either as that just strip the brass thread so they wont go back into the bumper :(

Handed the Disco keys to "She who must be obeyed" for the week as her car is in the garage.

Changing the battery on her volvo at the weekend, the fusible link (part of the positive terminal setup) for the starter motor snapped in half - for some reason the plastic had gone very brittle. A volvo specific part so not just a case of going to Euro and replacing it, and the volvo parts people couldnt work out which part it was, so decided life was too short and headed to our local trusted garage. As my wife is on a course in the centre of Bath this week this resulted in panic!

Fortunately I was already having a rental van delivered today ahead of an event this weekend - so i'll be gaining a 3.5 tonne sprinter-sized van as my run around for the week while she enjoys trying to park my disco in the centre of Bath each day!

They are fitted by the bumper manufacturer in the assembly process.
Maybe this company can help.

Other suppliers are out there

Replaced the steering damper, much more positive steering. Found something leaking roof liner wet off side rear passenger seeing as iv just resealed the sunroof drains and fixed the sunroof tested it many times with the hose I'm a bit miffed seeing as I refitted my nice newly recoverd roof liner.

Did you reseal the frame onto the outside of the roof?

Cheers

Didn't remove the sunroof the original leak was the sunroof drain box in the corner the original sealant had let go I resealed it and all seemed good with the hose and a massive down pour last week, todays down pour seemed to be to much for it iv blown the sunroof drains out again will see how it goes again.

Replaced the suspension air bags with coils ... Cannot understand why I didn't do this years ago! It's so much better, it makes me think that the SLS had problems.

I know there are 2 skools of thought about the rear suspension on the D2, but for me, I don't tow anything, and never carry heavy loads (including people as I've removed all the back seats) it has made the car so much nicer to driver, and even handle better on many of the stupidly bumpy Manx roads.

I'm not saying I'll never go back to air, but I think I'll struggle to justify it when the coils do everything I need.

I will continue to keep going with my Air until i get it right - even though it completely baffles me!

The latest

- No signs of a leak.
- If i leave it in normal road height overnight the back left corner drops to the bump stops. Sometimes it can take all night. Yesterday it did it after being parked for 2 hours (with a trailer on)
- If I leave it in raised "ORM" height, it stays up for days on end. I had a hire van for a few days so deliberately left it parked up in ORM and it stayed up for 5 days without dropping at all (measured before and after)

I have never seen it "drop" - so no way of telling if its dropping suddenly or gradually over a period of time. That said, i've never noticed it "half dropped" which makes me wonder if its suddenly opening a valve and letting all the air out!
