After some info…
So on my travels I saw a disco 3 or 4 with roof tent etc. the rear window was removed and a hatch put in its place. Looked like a made part.
Any 1 know who makes these?
(Unable to take photos was driving) Thanks

Off side and near side wheel bearings, front prop uj on my disco 1, nice way to spend a Saturday morning, thankfully no issues.. drives a dream again.

Passed her MOT with no advisories after failing with a knackered rear suspension arm and a small hole in the sill, £400 later all fixed.

I put two Pirelli scorpions on the front thinking it was going to breeze through.

Clean bill of health for 2025 and the tester remarked that the vehicle was in “ mint condition “ for a near 20 year old D3.

Mileage: 137,033

Oh bugger - my D2 is in for its MoT on Wednesday and I've just found a rather rusty body mount in the area below the drivers seat. That's bound to be a fail. I was looking to see how the side steps came off, as the box sections are rusted through and saw the body mount had gone all crispy.

I've a few weeks before the MoT expires so I was going to cancel and get it sorted, but I think I'll go ahead anyway and see if they find anything else and do it all in one hit.

On my D2, via ebay and £12 incl p&p I replaced the 1st small hose on the way from the Turbo to the Intercooler...

as the old one had developed a 4 inch long split

Just re-checked Rimmers catalogue - looks like you can only buy those 3 parts as one, for £179.11 plus postage

I bought a silicone set not long ago and I think they were cheaper, by quite a bit.
Checked, loads for about £60

Morning everyone, probably a good place for an introduction.

Disco Mk1 TDi owner now fitted with a 3.9 V8 EFi, unimog diffs and axles, Fox Racing suspension plus a NP205 crawler box and a Magnum transfer case. I went for a short drive looking for some soft / wet mud (a difficult ask at times, here in Kenya).

This is the second one I've put on, the previous lasted about 3 years.
I think it gets rotted-out by the oily air/mist or drips blown-out by the turbo...(?)
Do the silicon ones resist the oil for longer?
I tend to keep cars for a very long time so would switch to silicon if it improves longevity...

And it was, unsurprisingly, and also failed on worn droplinks. I'd suspected they were the cause of an occasional knock from the back, but really couldn't see where it was coming from, so good to have that confirmed anyway. Positive spin there.

Has anyone had the body mount just below the front seat welded on their car? Wondering how big a job it is....

My plan is to move the MoT to August or similar as I'm fed up with grubbing around under the car in the cold and wet and maybe get a pre MoT check done a few months in advance so I can sort it all out in the warm weather (although it'll probably still be wet....).

I've seen a decent carpet fire start because someone wanted it fixed 'quickly' ...
