Helicoiled SWMBO's aux belt tensioner stud back in place after the bleddy thing fell out    - tensioner just sat there in the fan blades, watching the world go past o_Oo_Oo_O .... trashed the belt tho  ... but I guess a new belt and half an hour to fit the coil, and then loctited* the whole "arrangement" back together was an easy fix ....

Thus far, HG seems to have survived it's few mins without a water pump too ..... but I'm not holding my breath ;)

* - Loctite 638 anorl - get out of that ya bar steward :p:p:p :D

Fitted new viscous fan to the Disco...roars like a jet on start up.... unlike the old unit. Can someone tell me what the normal working temps for the TD5 engine are...

My nanocom just throws up High Temp warnings at 91c. Is it being over cautious ??

Nowt, coz it's still not broke :D

However, I've found myself looking for a replacement front bumper that has recovery points on it. ;)

So i just got some old rubber pipe, cut it down the centre and slid it over the metal pipe.

Much better.

Low tech solution I grant you..

Hi well they say things happen in three's here's what I've done to my disco td5 end of last year o/s/r brake pipe corroded renewed all pipes. Christmas ACE pipe let go ripped it all out and replaced with modified block and hydraulic hose . Then 2 weeks ago high pressure fuel pipe ( green one) common issue rubbed and sprayed diesel everywhere just got back from garage though the first two I did myself and the fuel pipe I could have done but with work it would have sat for a while longer also serviced it fingers crossed that's it for a while
