I did read the post and I don't own a '96 RR 4.6 hse yet it took me less than 60 seconds to find out the correct grade of oil to use in it.:doh::doh:

Not sure if it's the same as for a Classic, but if you look through the first couple of pages I posted a recent thread about this. Either a 10W40 or 15W50 should be fine, the thicker oil would be better for the summer months.

Semi synthetic 10w40, from Vauxhall's Trade Club scheme is ideal and nice 'n cheap
However, I use fully synthetic, but only because I get it 'very (very) cheaply' from a friend!

i have done a search and there are so many different views on what oil to use and what grade
i thought i would the people that know Best and get there feedback on there past dealings and experties

At the risk of being considered an idiot..................... ( never stopped me before tho LOL)
Reading the Fekking manual would tell you what was the best oil to use or do you think Landrover would have skimped a bit in developement just to **** you off ??
and you thought you'd get 1 definitve answer to this did you
you're just going to get the same mix of views that you found in the original search.If you're really that unsure just ask in the motor factors when you're buying the oil and they'll tell you the manufacturers recommendation.

(i have a RR 1996 4.6 petrol hse + LPG
What engine oil do you recon i should use as i dont have a manuel to look it up )
