with the diesel leak now (hopefully) sorted, i want to get a tuning box for my 2000 plate p38, have had a quick look on web but dont realy know which ones to trust? and the ones that keep coming up cost about £450 only realy wanted to spend half that if poss, was told to look on diesel bods website but cant find it. i just dont want to buy anything to cause any harm to the car.

And for any of you that have them have you seen good gains from them?

cheers
Bob:cool:

Best bet is to buy an empty box from Maplin for 50p, fill full off cotton wool, bung it under your bonnet and see what happens...!
FFS these boxes are a rip off.
The technology to up the power on you M51 costs pennies and is not reliable.
If you want good reliable returns get you P38 mapped on the rolling road for £100 - £200.
Sorry for the neg post but it's good advice OP...

will make some enquirys with the rolling road LRO, but lot of people say good things bout these boxes? but im open to all suggestions

LRO is as usaual talking out of his anal orifice. PSI Power box is fine on mine, good improvement in performance, no need for a rolling road you can feel the difference in accelaration, if you want to be pedantic about it borrow a stop watch and time it over a length of road between 2 marks before fitting and after. Totaly reliable, Plug & Play no need to interfere with the engine ECU, can be removed and sold when you sell the car, unlike a RE-MAP.
Parts cost of the PSI Powerbox probably around £5 to £10, labour cost if it's made in the EU in small quantities a couple of quid, development costs, liability insurance thousands.

It fools the car into cold start mode.. Not good.
As usual Datatek knows best...........what a scrotum...

You little whiskey addled Scottish brain has confused the hot start fix with an alteration to the injection map.
It must be very hard to survive the life experience with so little ability to differentiate between different objects or devices.

Injection map altering using the psi box is just that.........!
What a moron you are:doh:

you are the scrotum LRO,you dont even know which item we are talking about.you seem to think it is the p38 hot start fix,it is that which fools the pump not the psi box.
