It's disappeared on its own. Range for fob unlocking is still a good distance, got new ones today anyway.

I went through 2 packs of "new" batteries before the "low fob battery" went away on the L322. they dont seem to store well. Or are no good when packed, No i did not leave the little sticky protective disc on the battery terminal before anyone asks, Unlike somebody on here .

I would change them anyway, so your low fob warning can come back so you know they are good:D.

ok i can officially say, smart alternators are stupid!
bearing in mind i had fully charged the battery beforehand..
Drive to work and much of the time the voltage stayed around 12.0v, going up to 13.6 only when i took my foot off the accelerator.
A system designed to not fully charge the battery to save the smallest amount of emissions is short sighted to say the least.
No reason to believe anything is wrong, it's just seeing a full battery and waiting for the soc to drop significantly before charging properly

I'll be keeping my old 38πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Did some maths regarding parts, garage costs and the like. Normally I would never do that, so far besides the initial purchase yeaes ago everything just felw under the radar expense wise. And yes, I know how priviledged a posituon it is to just burn a bunch thousands a year on car without actually realizing it.

Not anymore for now I am affraid, between the carbs (still not paid!!!!) and the harnesses, well, I had to check expenses and bank accounts. To cut the story short, a significant chunk of the "rainy day" slush fund I started building when I started to work, used once and rebuild since, will have to go again... Well, that's what those kinds of funds are there for, right?

On a different note, I can only confirm the quality of French women, as spouses and in general! A lot of character, only makes me love mine even more!

Unless you are fully qualified HV electrician I wouldn't touch an EV in the first place. Not illegal so, just stupid. And EV or not, exactly much can a DIY mechanic do on a, say, 2020 Golf?
