I set up an account with TFL for all of my vehicles in January, went to a funeral in the ULEZ a couple of weeks ago and got the £90 fine on Saturday for non payment. Turns out, the account I set up on their intentionally impossible to navigate website was for the new tunnel that they want to charge everybody for and although it leads you to think it cover ULEZ, it doesn't. FFS! It's my mistake and that's that, but it doesn't make it any easier to swallow. I don't want to spark the debate here again.

So, if you add the £90 that it's cost me to your Transit running cost over that journey, it makes it even smarter to listen to a v8 soundtrack. Perhaps I should get a Supercharged for the couple of times a year that I go into the misery zone.

As to what I have done with it, I replaced the CV joint on the NSF and the air spring also on the same corner on Saturday. That was a pleasantly easy job to do. Spent Sunday trying to get the slurry off it from last weekend's fun. I now need to clean my street before the Environments lot turn up and start asking questions. ;)

Did you use the tunnel? If not I would give them a ring. They can be helpful.

A couple of years ago I went over the Dart' Bridge and was shocked to discover they don't do cash and you have to pay online within 24 hours - which I had no means of doing so until the end of the week. When I got home at the end of the week the charge notice was there so I rang and explained the situation and they took the £3 or whatever it was payment over the phone. Still a PITA but better than the £60 fine. Fancy refusing cash or card for a toll? I mean FFS.

Cleaned the trim, after the nice guys at the car wash had cleaned her. Which led me to thinking: has anyone managed to paint their wing mirrors? I was thinking plasticote, but not sure it's the right stuff as casing is metal. so maybe smooth hammerite? Any thoughts/successes?

Or maybe a lacquer?

Colour matched or just nicely finished 🤔😊

Just a nice black finish , similar to the current but whole mirror will need done as it's all fading now
. Problem is ,it's not easy to match as it's not matte, satin or gloss. Otherwise I would try to match

That would involve taking the glass out to get a smooth finish. Otherwise there will be an edge just inside the lip. also I'm a bit impatient, and OCD. Trying to get all the bubble out would just drive me nuts:vb-kaioken:
doesnt the plastic unclip?

the glass unclips easy enough too

What I would like is to do the triangle too. Which again is a bigger job if trying to vinyl wrap. whereas finding a product that can be painted on would just mean a very neat cover job around it.

If it can break it will break when I handle things and at £180 or so for the glass I really don't want to risk it. I overcompensate with force because the 'good' arm isn't so great and I can't judge what pressure I'm using.
How much!? I got mine off eBay for £15 each!!
Ok not tinted, the heating element doesn't cover the whole area but they still work

A new electrochromic is £180 upwards. The usual culprits have them at over £300. I need to change one of mine as the glass has gone brownish. Doesn't affect ability to see but I think it's the autodim that's failed/failing. I got new old stock for the other one several years ago at £80ish off ebay but no joy for this one, yet.
