We had a '21 plate Velar in work today with EML on, needless to say it went straight in my 'to do list'... Now we have no JLR diagnostics and my SDD won't play nicely with 2017-on LR's, they have a Snap-On thing but again, that won't talk to more recent stuff. My Autel AP200 had no problems however!
2.0l Ingenium petrol engine with DTC's set for airflow too high, Bank1 & Bank 1 too lean, soon found one of the charge air hoses had a loose hose clamp between the charge air cooler - how, when or why it was loose, God only knows, but it'd pushed off the elbow onto the inlet manifold, the car was sold by another branch less than a week ago so either someone has been fiddling (lots of hoses & harness not in clips, but close by!) and I can't imagine the average prep. tech. even taking the engine cover off.

Anyway, to the point - because there were emissions related DTC's, you can turn off the EML but the DTC's won't clear until you 'prove' it's fixed with a test drive :D
So off I went, a good 30-miler... It's a nice place to be, not the same position as a 'full fat', the seats are a bit more 'German' (i.e. hard and unforgiving) the 2.0l pulls well enough and is lively away from the lights but progress slows >85mph, it's still pulling, just not at the rate you'd get from a SDV8. I was also expecting a bit less roll, it wasn't bad, just not as good as having active ARB's.

Would I buy one? No. Not because of the seats, not because of the engine or the body roll, purely because the boot isn't big enough for the dogs to travel any distance in. The interior and systems are as good as you'd get in anything else for the price, JLR seem to have managed to make it (IMO) nicely understated, not all shouty and 'Fisher-Price' like Mercs. The Velar was released in my last year at JLR and I sort-of liked it then, obviously it was riddled with issues and bugs but they seem to have cleared all that up.

I did enjoy the short drive, clearly it won't suit most 'because electronics etc.' or 'because Ingenium', which I fully understand, but if we had smaller dogs....

As a bonus, my SDV8 was sulking in the car park when I got back, clearly it'd enticed a flock of poorly seagulls over it whilst I'd been away so I had to wrestle the jetwash away from the Nigerian service wash guy for ten minutes.
 
Well its started, non of the scabs have holed through, even the wheel arches and rear sill buffed within seconds to clean metal 😁

New front plate came, since I dont have the plate holder its just straight onto the bumper, I couldn't decide between full size or 6 digit size so I got both,
Also had to order a heap of trim clips, rear bumper reflectors (£65) for a pair of genuine ones 😳,
Pair of rear mudflaps as I couldn't be bothered trying to get the old ones off my old bumper,
They're hoping to get the motor in primer today though said they've only found 3 little dinks elsewhere

My absolute hero of a painter has done it,
Still awaiting new badges, old bonnet badges got reused for now, rears was in awful condition,
Lower Tailgate badges went back on for now.
Front and rear mudflaps without the thing for the running boards they're coming off,
Front bumper still needs done after front parking sensor brackets and sensors turn up,

Wheels are on the todo list but that will be next month, im torn on keeping the 4.2 supercharged wheels, or getting the 2010 supercharged wheels or if I get somthing like my old td6 had

it has chewed a bit of my drift project money but the poor old thing was looking fairly used and abused

I used mine to go and buy another one... Oh, why oh why do we do it? The driveway is looking pretty cramped with a pair of L322s flanking the Discovery 4.

I got it in my head that I needed a 4.4 TDV8 and then I found this one locally that was a great price because, well, it's broken of course. The 3.6 which is now finally a really well sorted car with no issues has to go to make way for the 4.4. No doubt there will be posts to follow on the 4.4.

Could any kind l322 owner measure rear badge height for the Range rover lettering please 🙏

Looks like 42-43mm to the base of the R for Range and 44mm to the base of the R for Rover (when including the trim piece)

I checked this on both cars to make sure it wasn't that one had had its badges removed so I'm as confident as I can be that this is accurate.
