Just a wee update :D,,I changed the green sensor on my dse 2.5 about 10 days ago or so n i can report ,Its not revving all by itself,slight high idle and the glow light coming on when warm ,hot ,gear changes are smother ,and mpg has slightly improved ;)..thats me second one in 9 years,.....The car was lazy on gear changes, ,lumpy when starting from hot n smoky ,,idle would change all by itself and it would randomly change from lockup to 4th n back again at 55mph or so,now its so smooth you forget how good they can be,i was useto the way it drove ,changed that sensor n its night n day ,,,,ha the wife thinks my driving has improved cause the cars smoother ,,,, :mad: ..muttering swear words.:mad:.

That is an interesting result and one to remember. :)
 
Wey hey, my LHD P38 just passed the CT (MOT) with no advisories. It failed 3months ago with a diesel leak from the FIP. It was too cold for me to fix at the time so I left it for the weather to warm up. I also replaced the leak off pipes again as one was leaking.

Sorry, I missed what the problem was originally but I'm intrigued... which wee green sensor? sounds like a magic fix!
 
Tried again.. heated seats front and rear, heated screens, headlights and heater blower on max, 13.2 at 2000 rpm
Left ignition and lights on for a couple of mins, engine off, then started up and my amp clamp said around +77A on the red battery wire so the alternator is definitely doing something
I've no clue how old the battery is or if the ecu was reset when the battery was changed.. i know it changes the charging profile but don't really know how our what to look for

Have you looked in SDD to see what battery number you are on?

Fitted the towbar armarture. Its a witter kit with 7 pin scotch connectors, going to get pros to fit 13 pin electrics with proper module and ecu update etc etc
 
Took family down to imperial war museum Duxford, Range rovers really are great cruisers, took nice and steady managed, showed 34.4mpg, worked out it’s done 33.2 so quite accurate not bad for a old td6. Definitely worth the 3 1/2 hour drive down too. Great place to spend a day.

Got her back from the hospital.
The lagging at 2000 rpm, was down to a burst vacuum hose
Stereo now working , apparently all good after a hard reset
New height sensor finally on
Horn u/s was due to fuse holder corrosion
And a bit of vanity : a nice new valance for the driver's seat controls 😁

Now I'm off to lay down and recover from the cost.
 
Have you looked in SDD to see what battery number you are on?

No, didn't know it was counted! I'll have a look.
Watched the voltage on a longer driver.. it starts up idling at 12.9 then slowly creeps up over 5 mins or so so i think the alternator is fine, just doing its thing.
