Don't let them get you down, I'm on coils as well mate.
Yours is a classic. It is supposed to roll.

I have everything but airbags, although I think I might replace the airlines, since their status is unknown.
Yeah, I used the usual scumbags to get the Mrs her airbags, but since I know I'll encounter issues with it being on coils so long, I have put off the switch for years. But I am moving so close to work soon I can ride a bike there, so that is likely my best chance to get the job done... once I get all of the parts from my parents garage.Airline cheap from someone like Airtek. £250 for new bags from the usual suspects.
Am I the other one?
..
Mine is set at "normal" height, and I find it handles better than the other half on air. Although I have Terrafirma dampers and she is rocking OE, which probably helps mine stay upright in the twisties. Although I do feel the tyre flex more being on 16" wheels opposed to her 18".Yes
Rotted P38 unusual? Find a scrapper and a L.ion angle grinder and go get the bit you need
@Bix @plumbfisher how do you find the coils though??
What height are they?
My vehicle is very comfy but it’s lifted up. Guess EAS would be comfier but still grabs the road no problem. Itl only roll when you start climbing ridiculous off-road banks at stupid speeds in my experience
Yup. Sorry, you're right, it was. Great for when you got a puncture. Took the wheel off, up to the high setting and drove home!GS suspension was hydraulic wasn't it?
GS suspension was hydraulic with Nitrogen filled spheres providing springing and damping. Great little car, flat 4 air cooled engine. I also had an XM estate which, like the GS & P38 could be lifted for paddling.Mine is raised a couple of inches too. I do quite a bit of work around farms and sites off road so it suits. It was on the wrong springs when I got it, too soft and too low at the back, so it really wallowed around. A bit stiffer now obvs but feels fine to me. (I had a 2A before as a daily drive...!) Good round the corners and I've never felt that it is at all unstable. Opinion does vary a lot but there's some say that the ride is not that different on air. I'm not sure about that. Years ago we had a Citroen GS on air and that seemed to absorb all the bumps really well, you could ignore speed bumps.
I'm going to meet brianp38dse at the Prestwood steam rally tomorrow. For those that haven't been it has a bit of everything there and unbelievable value for money. Anyone else popping along? @Dopey? @Saint.V8? @EntropyUK?
If I would have known before, might have come along

My lack of height has only been an issue once or twice when doing some light duty offroading, but I properly hoon my P38 at times, to the point where it feels like I am about to scrape my mirrors off the floor. But not rolled yet. However in the wifes I have to be a little more gentle into the bends as the body roll is bad, but she has a V8 so can just point and squeeze on the way out.
Not runflat thenNew bloody tyre two weeks ago. Not happy!
Wasted some of my life time pißßing about with a stupid mirror motor..... Would work with no frame and gear pinion but not with the full assembly... I have a spare none memory mirror with only six wires. Were as mine has about nine? I may just cut the memory unit out and fit the standard mirror mechanism Instead. I wouldn't mind if I moved them everyday but I never bloody do aaaaaaaand in a none moving state it won't pass the c.t/mot here....
And my front axle is now starting to clunk going from D to R and visa versa... Still....look forward to driving it tomorrow.
It seems they are not strong enough for off road abuse then? Any oil in the diff? Front UJ OK??Wasted some of my life time pißßing about with a stupid mirror motor..... You don't carry a spare? Looks like it may have been running under inflated.Yeah, went with a hell of a bang, stopped immediately but it was torn so limped a mile and a half to the services as it was already beyond repair. 245 quid for mobile fitter to come and replace it. Not the best start to a Monday morning!
