Got mates trailer, put all Mercedes bits in it and drove to the new owners address 14 miles away & let him empty it out. He's pleased to have spares :)

Driving back, witnessed a small 1 vehicle crash, so swung back around to help. Put strobing beacons on, let the driver sit in George to stay warm til the emergency services arrived. Went home, dropped off the trailer then visited my old boss (and very good friend) and had a coffee & a chat.

Drove home after fueling up.

Great day out... Sad I know, but for me it was freedom

Stripped a new cylinder head in the ****ing rain. I say stripped, my injector socket wasn't thin enough to remove the injectors and my valve spring compressor doesnt have the reach to remove the valves, so it was dropped off for testing considerably more complete than planned!

Doo,
glad to see you managing to get about a bit now, but don't over do it and slow down the healing processes.

I hear you boss. I get out about twice a week for max 4hrs and it floors me for the following day. But I'm going stir crazy sitting on my arse, so any excuse to escape...

However , when I am sitting about my leg is always raised to sort out blood flow. But last time at hospital, surgeon told me that I'm more or less screwed. Smashed ankle & leg bones aside, I also have the ripped membrane that holds the tib & fib together (top to bottom) which took out tendons & ligaments so recovery will be a long hard painful job. So anything that makes me happy will help. Ergo, George is employed to do that :D

Watch out when you get it back. All those bits will be in bags so you'll need to find the tools to rebuild it anyway! Unless you pay extra & ask them to replace them for you before returning it to you ;)

Fortunately the guy is pretty friendly, and will fit the new stem seals and reassemble for me. I'll have a new injector socket to refit the injectors myself by the time I get the head back :)

Stopped mine 'falling out by making sure everyone knows she's being video'd at all times outside the house and 'there is video recording 24/7 of this vehicle' stickers on windows. I was fed up replacing them, as they're the black ovals they're a little bit more expensive than the green ovals.

Depends when you're going FI can be lovely. I'll tell JSPSU to look out for you ;)
Even the green ovals cost enough. £6 a punt. Might have to glue them in when I finally get replacements. Trust you to have the posh option though. ;D

Over winter, it is never lovely. No need for that, I'm a good boy, I is. :p

if you glue the center caps in, they'll have to be knocked out every time a wheel needs balancing. I had one of my Porsche ones damaged by someone trying to nick it.. £256 for a set of 4 only available in a set of 4.. I put the originals in the tool bag under the hood and bought a set of cheap chinese copies off ebay for £20, they've not been touched since

I tried the set of 4 for a tenner off ebay, still got nicked. So, to help the hard of thinking, I put a sign on the gate and stickers on car window. Not been touched since.

Have you started with the brake cylinder furthest from the master? Then the next furthest and so on?

If you don't do it in order, there will always be bubbles.

Also, have you checked the flexi's for expanding? I have seen it before and it plays havoc with braking pressures.... I have also seen the flexi's being damaged inside (when people use vice grips on them) and they won't allow fluid through, so bleeding is hopeless.

Getting all the bubbles out of a replacement brake modulator can be an utter PITA.

Nothing, once again! Went out yesterday and battery was flat again. However, it would appear that the reason I have had isues with the battery since getting a new one about 3 yrs ago ( have had to replace, on warranty , about 4 times since), is it was the wrong battery. Garage thought it was correct one as asked for one to fit RR. Seems they had a chat with person they were getting latest one off and there are two for the RR . Whether the reason given ( Vogue needs more power on cranking and drains more while sleeping due to toys) is correct or not, I don't care, so long as it stops all this p/ssing about.
So fingers crossed that come Monday my baby becomes the beautiful girl she used to be, when I could deploy for months, come back, turn the key and drive home.
