Filled the old bus up with some ESSO premium, way to píss money up the wall in style eh! :D

Been monitoring the MPG's just for fun and over the past 1000mi she has averaged 21.7 :cool::eek::D

Which isn't bad for an old V8 P38
Shame the p38 can't use it, extra detergent can't harm though
 
The noise from my engine is not water pump or tensioner. Seems to be top end. And there's a vibration. Seems to be missing every now and again.It had vibrated so much it had actually shaken the inlet manifold nuts loose.

#1 injector?
 
I said a final goodbye to my short owned P38 Westminster TD this morning as i have now completed all the monies refunded back to me plus compo the selling dealer gave me on top which was decent of him. Sad but relieved at the same time.
She will be picked up on a truck one day this week and taken back to his storage facility until after xmas he said when he will get the head off it and see how bad things are down below.

Onwards and upwards now.
 
@Grrrrrr , Oohh we got out when it was allowed. Had a few trips cancelled at the last minute due to lockdowns / plus no non essential travel bans etc.

Kept to SD / rules and all that , plus for GL max 6 persons. So a few GL trips when the powers that be said it was OK, plus a couple of days / weekends on private P&P sites.

But still nowhere near as busy as a normal Year.

FAILED MISERABLY to replace the rubber hose link betwixt hard plastic filler downpipe and tank spigot.
I did my very best but even with the OSR wheel & arch-liner off and the back end up as high as my axle stands will permit I just could not for the life of me get anything on the julie-bee clips AND have the power to undo them.
So, the guys at my local indie get the job instead. C'est-la-vie.

You give up tooo easily, think of yourself stuck in the desert then what would you do? Junior hacksaw or a blade in a handle and cut through the clips.you wouldn't have to worry about cutting the hose,or even a Dremel if your lazy.;):D

Indeed, in this case I have. Normally I do persevere; but my back was telling me to get up off the drive and stop trying to be a hero. ;) Your point is well made and fully understood though. I shall slope off in shame now. :oops:
 
Think i've given up on keeping this thing clean, the dirt hides all the dents and scratches. :D

On the way home from work I stopped in at an old Picnic site, it has been abandoned for a good few years though...

The upside being no people for miles ;) :cool:
