Jesus you've been driving almost as long as my Granddad's been alive!!Did a bit of interior cleaning on the project car now it's fully usable. In 60 years of car ownership I have never seen seats so dirty, I ended up using industrial kitchen degreaser Even then it took three attempts to get somewhere near clean.
It was a non smokers car. Smells horrible for the moment, the cleaner I used is pretty powerful but it will soon go and I will treat the leather when I finish the job, only got access to the left side where it's parked at the moment and too hot to do it in the open.Jesus you've been driving almost as long as my Granddad's been alive!!
Mine was filthy when i first got it, the PO was a heavy smoker, the seats were a sickly yellow, nice and white after a clean..
bet yours smells fresher inside too!
You haven't got an interior water leak have you?Broke in and ̶c̶l̶e̶a̶n̶e̶d̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶a̶l̶l̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶m̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶g̶r̶o̶w̶i̶n̶g̶ gave her a good clean down inside. Took the battery off to get some charge back into it and gave her a quick wash down and dust externally.
Spent some time this afternoon tweaking the fitment, it sits well now and sounds very smart..
Not abnoxious like some who just had the mufflers cut off, it has a nice burble under acceleration, but it isn't intrusive.
When cruising it is very quiet, idling it has a nice v8 throb.
Giving it some welly, or putting it under loads yields a lovely noise!
The Holes for the pipes are going to be tided up, but it sits central and doesn't rattle which i'm happy with.
Looks like someone tried ramming something oversized in that hole to leave it so ragged.
It's my own fault I left a drink in there, thought I got to it in time and apparently didn't. Couldn't get in because we don't have the EKA code so just slowly watched my steering wheel go fuzzy...You haven't got an interior water leak have you?
Dry carpets?
Restaurants? Blimy with the uptick in Covid-19 in the area are you not pushing your luck? After giving Buttercup a good clean and polish on the weekend, what does the conniving bitch do? refuses to start last night to go to our local restaurant. Just clicking when turning the key, so had to go in the 90 instead. (but that's alright cos I like driving that)View attachment 216427
Had a look this morning, plenty of power to the lights, no dimming when key is turned to start position, so out with Landrover tool #1 and after a few good thumps on the side of the starter motor she turns over. Phew. Maybe should have been a bit more selective where I was shoveling all that water when cleaning the underside.
So flushed with success I decide to have a look at the rear wiper which hasn't worked all winter, and what do you know, 2nd push of the switch and it works!!! A quick squirt of wd on the spindle just to be on the safe side and retire to a cup of tea and choccy digestives as a reward for all my hard work. Happy bunny, love affair back on, (for a bit at least)
I wouldn't go if it was free ,help the economy my rrr's Boris is trying to kill off us pensioners @wammers you take care I see Preston is mentioned having an increase in cases.Restaurants? Blimy with the uptick in Covid-19 in the area are you not pushing your luck?
Found out my battery is completely dead and funds for a new one are currently not available. One step forward 200 metres back...
I had it on my charger, it got to the point of seeing if it'll hold charge and failed. It was always a weak battery when we got it, being sat for a while has finally killed it off.RF drain? Mind you, if it has been dat a while. Try taking it off and charging and see if it hokds charge off it. Give him something to do ...

Not quite as it seems. Every Tuesday evening we go down to our local restaurant to eat with the owner and his doris, to all intents and purposes the place is shut. Since lockdown has finished here we have started eating there again, although we are seated outside, as normal for this time of year.Restaurants? Young people, you mean? Over half of cases are people under 30. Opening the pubs might not have been a stroke of genius. No prizes for guessing why that is. It's not the whole of the city just the parts occupied by certain people.
