Well today I mainly played with the Bastid.the child bride went out to see her mother ,who's in a care home, for the first time in 5 months.I couldn't go because I'm not in her bubble. So I read what lucky @DanClarke did and tried myself, joined the earth and positive leads before re connecting .tried entering the eka and bugger me it worked.Call me lucky TC Alan. Alll doors open, and the engine no longer disabled.happy days. So I went on to try and find the reason for no power to the obd plug traced the Brown wire back to the drivers side A post connector, which had been cut out and the wires soldered.so removed the cooling expansion tank and opened up the loom the Brown wire runs from the obd plug to the yellow plug on the fuse box.when I cut back the loom binding the Brown wire came apart in my hands. I think it was rubbing on the brake pipe. Cut back soldered and heat shrinked job done.Too tired to carry on so had a Barbie and a few drinks. Tomorrow is another day.progress made.

Nice one Alan, glad you have made some progress, dont push yourself to much.

Being a nerd, I brim the tank every time and reset the trip, all recorded in a little book, long term average last time I did the sums was 24mpg, I have seen 30mpg cruising on the Nationale at 60mph. When it had the power box, the dash would show 34mpg on a run and 28mpg local so it was 4 mpg out.
If it didn't go offroad, lug cars with ease and swallow camping gear while stomping along, it would be harder to justify its MPG but just can't stop enjoying it while out on the road.

Can you guess what's missing yet?
This is the result of a 600€ cash in hand job for timing chains and guides done without a guarantee..... Sorry, chains and most of the guides replaced.
The exhaust camshaft gear had loosened,
The inlet camshaft snapped in two places and the camshaft caps are in the wrong places also. The exhaust caps on the inlet side and so on...

That looks like an m47 lump or was:p

RRdt Thanks for your kind words about my truck. It was good to meet up. I'm still in awe of that lift kit of yours!
You have all the support you need here to keep your EAS working so shouldn’t need to resort to that level of savagery ;).
If I can ever help just let me know

I have a n47 in the garden that the oil pump went on , spun the bearings and seized, the oil sensor was connected wrong so no warning:(
The engines are made rubbish and badly designed along with the audi vw group and Peugeot/citroen/bmw efforts as well. It scares me what to buy next tbh..

Done myself a little air intake upgrade today.... :)

new upgrade..

Hi Folks,
Just fitted a new Dunlop Strut Assembly as was needed, due to a hole in the airbag, to get back on the road after lockdown. Fortunately, I have a local mechanic with a van full of kit for the tough jobs. It was a nightmare getting the hub bolts out as they were well seized but some heat then freeze and a large mallet won the day. Very happy, set her down and everything worked perfectly. Raise / Lower / Access all spot on. Took her for a spin down the farm lanes to blow the cobwebs. Big smile. Next job full wash and brush up.
