So... To rejoin the thread..
Went and collected nearly 400kg of tiles from near Bordeaux. 31mpg there and 31mpg back.. You would never had known it was loaded :cool:
MPG off the dash? Bet it's not that on a brim to brim check:cool:
 
The average is around 25mpg around the houses, 31mpg is off the dash at 70mpg.
Being a nerd, I brim the tank every time and reset the trip, all recorded in a little book, long term average last time I did the sums was 24mpg, I have seen 30mpg cruising on the Nationale at 60mph. When it had the power box, the dash would show 34mpg on a run and 28mpg local so it was 4 mpg out.

We have a running joke with ours. Everything it says is usually 3 points out.. if it says we're doing 60mph, it could be 57 or 63, if the gauge says it's 17 Deg outside, it could be 14 or 20. Same with MPG, DTE.etc
We just tell everybody.."it's P38 Range Rover, that's what they do"
(If you want accuracy, buy a Datsun..)

Well today I mainly played with the Bastid.the child bride went out to see her mother ,who's in a care home, for the first time in 5 months.I couldn't go because I'm not in her bubble.So I read what lucky @DanClarke did and tried myself, joined the earth and positive leads before re connecting .tried entering the eka and bugger me it worked.Call me lucky TC Alan. Alll doors open,and the engine no longer disabled.happy days. So I went on to try and find the reason for no power to the obd plug traced the Brown wire back to the drivers side A post connector, which had been cut out and the wires soldered.so removed the cooling expansion tank and opened up the loom the Brown wire runs from the obd plug to the yellow plug on the fuse box.when I cut back the loom binding the Brown wire came apart in my hands. I think it was rubbing on the brake pipe. Cut back soldered and heat shrinked job done.Too tired to carry on so had a Barbie and a few drinks. Tomorrow is another day.progress made.

Good tip there. The OBD plug on my scrapper does bugger all so I am going to have to have a look at it sooner or later.
