I touched up a couple of bits with the paint pen. However, I think I f%#$ed up , royally, on the door handle. I decided to do a larger area. I duly rubbed it back, with fine sandpaper. Then touch up brush, and brushed on the paint.
Wrong thing to do. It's bumpy. Whivh means rub it back and try again.
So the question is what do others use for areas of approx 2cm x 2cm? A cut down sponge maybe?

All help appreciated :)

I did my lettering with a nail varnish type applicator. If you rub it down and recoat Ito come up smooth eventually. Thinners help to buff it while curing with a doo daa or by hand. heat guns good on low at distance but don’t use that on plastic.

i spray, pens are for chips

I would but I have nothing to spray with, even if I did I wouldn't trust me to spray , as my hands shake like a jelly , but mainly it seems overkill, to cover half the vehicle, for a small patch on a door handle. Thanks though :)

Hmmmm , not a bad idea. Can't do the heat, as it's door handle, and they're plastic. But buffing whilst curing , and a brush that feathers , might work. Thanks :)

Pics or it happened

I remember montego, you had to know someone that worked for a stealer to keep one going iirc
Drove mine into a BMW in the end..folded up like a pie case and just bent the grill on the BMW.. But I did like the two tone blue velour seats and a 2ltr petrol so went like scalded cat.

Maybe i over exaggerated a bit. But the matt was damp in the area of my left foot.
No, is not coolant, definitely rainwater

Can check around the scuttle/windscreen/pollen filter covers for signs. Some of that draught exclusion foam as a bead works well on the covers.

I've sealed the pollen filter covers well, made no difference. Someone mentioned a screw nearby, i sealed that too :(

Drove it again no problems had to use the local ford as all the fecking idiots on bicycles decide to stop there tour de kent country side and stop on the bridge for a selfie. Fecking tossers
