while washing it a big crack appeared in the front windscreen which got bigger by itself as the day went on, booked in tomorrow for a new windscreen £75 excess broken glass policy , beat the £800 quoted if not through insurance.

Naff all. Still using a company vehicle all week so she has been sat looking sad. I'll take her for a good long run tomorrow to see if anything falls off.

Mines had an override spliced in which up to now has worked perfectly. Obviously today that doesn't work either. It's all been slightly strange since I changed the key fob batteries :(

After struggling to fit the cat cage on the back seat to drop them at the cattery I get home and the door locks do a little dance. I lock it and unlock and hey presto - the tailgate works again.

So, door lock or rf receiver? Either way it'll have to wait until I'm back from me hols.

Edit: or low battery??

Try locking/unlocking on the key. If it does it with no faults, fob, if it still plays up, locks are buggered. The fact they spliced in a bypass suggests it is the locks.

Tried the key while it was playing up and it didn't open. I also very occasionally get the random lock/unlock thing when driving around.

What's involved with new locks? Do I need new keys and stuff too?

Yesterday.. saint come over and helped me out (yet again) air ride wasn't working (on bum stops) he stuck the diagnostic in a found the fault right away.... save a lot of faffing around, the pump is u/s so I have a spare will swap it over 2morrow and in the meanwhile buy a new one

I couldn't help you with that, I've never had to do it. Hopefully a grown up will be along soon with some helpful information.

I had hand washed and dried her by 0800 hrs. I then made all the black bits nice, including the awkward to get to bits under the windscreen wipers. Then later went for a drive to hospital, with front windows and sunroof open,to enjoy that odd yellow thing in sky.

Just the lock mechanism. Most likely the problem is one of the micro switches.

Well if you're talking about a P38, he's sort of right, the back one is the trackrod bar for setting the relative angle of the front wheels, the front the drag link which you can adjust to straighten the steering wheel - although the proper way is centralising the steering box first.

That's excacly what I told him you can't just ajust the steering if you don't know that the steering box marks are central he was going to take the steering wheel of .

Took her for a spin to see if anything had fallen off. It hadn't, although it did take a while for the box to wake up. RRs really don't like being left to stand. Spotted a northern team out their training. Shortly after I got home I got a call out to return to exactly the same place I'd just driven through. By the time I turned around and got back out there we'd been sent the stand down because the northern team offered to do it. They are moving deeper and deeper into our patch.

But at least my RR is still a good little motor, she seemed happy once I got everything up to temp. Might need to work on the gearbox oil cooler, a week of standing left a puddle about 5cm across. :(

New dampers are nice though, she doesn't handle like a car, but I can take more speed into a corner, handles bumps better without bottoming out, steering is sharper. Do like me some Terras, should've made the change years ago.

Drove home 5 hours from Cornwall, nothing beats a rangie on a long trip!
Nice to get out and feel like you just popped to the shops :D

That is one of the saving grace's. I did 9 hours on twisty D roads with an hour lunch break and still felt fresh when I got home despite my age:D
