You had an argument with a giant porcupine?
Got ****ed off trying to turn around, people assume if you have a 4x4 you also have vertical take off... I forgot how much front end swing she has and collected a substantial hedge. So many scratches to try and get buffed out, more annoyed that I only got the bonnet resprayed earlier this year.

I got little angry while driving and made a stupid mistake... might buff out.

Checked diff oils and transfer box - all full, shafts seem okay.
Guess is (hopefully) gearbox needs a little top up but filler plug don’t wanna come out :(

This plug is a nightmare. have I over loctited it? I’m not sure
seems to be small leak from top of gearbox. Filler plug is rounded, tried making a lip in it to tap it round but it is the same density as chocolate that’s been in fridge a bit
more I try the more I am mangling it,

so my question is what next???

Or does this qualify as oil level is obviously fine, it has to be, all it’s having :D
I have pics but the upload isn’t working

There's a breather pipe on top of gearbox. Could be the crush-washer is overtightened and leaking?

Plug. Got a replacement? How about getting some Quicksteel and effectively glueing a sacrificial Torx bit in there?

Just drove it, But as I was in Inkerman and it was bloody freezing was just thinking about the poor soldiers that came here during the Crimean war with the kit they had. Parts of Inkerman are still so desolate just thought those poor buggers must have frozen in winter as the wind was coming in from the black sea today and it was bitterly, literally eye wateringly cold I just wouldn't wait to get back into my nice warm beast. Thank you heated seats and as someone who served in the Falklands I know cold in combat.

How tight did you do it when you replaced the oil?
Iirc I had a small weep and tightened it a second time...I am well known for over tightening by accident :( still I believe the plug is crap quality.

Is yours a manual? The remote gearchange housing can develop a weep where it bolts on to the gearbox if it is.
Yes it is manual, maybe I can get my phone up there and snap take a pic of what’s going on without having to take it out.

I would stitch weld a square bar to the plug. the heat will break the seal and you can grip the bar to remove it. 1.6 or 2mm electrode about 45 amp and small tacks allowing to cool between each tack. there will be a very low heat input for each tackweld , so should not cause a fire risk

I don't remember the Plug being flush with the body in the R380 in my old classic!!

You must of cranked that up!!

Just throw some PTFE tape on the threads if they weep, never seen them weep though!!
