Muppets should be sued for negligence. What would have happened if a tyre had blown out leaving you stranded at the side of the M25?

If ever I have a tyre replaced I always ask what they are going to torque them up to. Invariably they give a figure WAY higher than the manufacturer's spec. And when I get home I slacken it off and do it to spec., just to check!
Or worse still being henched on that tight it spilt the wheel while chatting along at speed? How hard is it to crack out a torque wrench and do it by the book?

I had to go out to Halfords and buy a big bastard knuckle bar just to crack it off. 'ther halfs family found it amusing how much I swear when I work. I rarely swear normally.

35C here today, both P38's have been out and about with aircon on full blast running quite happily with no viscous fan on either.

Took the head lining out today as per dopeys how to do re covered it and put it back in nearly and a great help his post was thanks also re fitted the clove box nightmare poxy job but the strut works now at least a good day Woking on the car all thanks to the great European working time directive

Bit of progress with the android install this afternoon while i had the passenger door card off to see why the window rattled, it wasnt in the front runner doh. I thought i might as well start rewireing the near side speakers.
I know have front left and rear left all sorted just have todo the drivers side next mite get that done tomorrow. Also waiting on some capacitors so the mid range goes where its meant to.
All cut into the original loom and solderd in so its nice and neat.

Checked under-bonnet fluid levels, spot on, which I was pleased with after just getting home from a trip back to the UK.
4 tanks of diesel, no idea on consumption as didn't think to check first, doh, :(
All went well except
1/. the rear wash/wipe has decided not to play.
2/. new speedo cable on order, just about to get on the ferry to Newhaven when the speedo starts jumping about all over the place.
3/. new high level brake light on order after fixing on one end failed and the whole lot is hanging on the wires, (temp repair with some surgical tape out of the first aid box) I am blaming the huge fecking potholes for this.:mad:

All in all a happy bunny, old Buttercup did us proud. :):) Almost embarassing the number of folks who said what a nice car, even the customs guy.

Took her to the body shop. She's got a couple of bubbles on the off side wheel arch. No more than about an inch but best to catch it early. Also got a few bits starting on the inside, just where the rear doors close. Again not much, but best to get done as soon as possible. Also an inch long deliberate key scratch, on rear bumper, done by some jealous git.

For 16yrs old, she's doing ok :)

Took her in for MoT test, passed... just needs a few parts, exhaust (4 years old, rotten), front dampers (5 years old and "misting"), front prop shaft UJs on the way out, an oil leak, and the bulbs in my dash are dead so can't get mileage. So she flew through.

More annoyingly I was told it'd be all day so walked the 3 miles home, to get a call 30 minutes after I sat down saying it was ready, so I got to walk 3 miles back. :'(

Nothing rain has stopped play on the android install and exhaust decay I'm not laying in the rain on the driveway

Oddly enough my "creeper" has just arrived as I've had enough of lying on my back in the gutter too! At least now I'll be more comfortable ... hopefully!
