today i repaired the EAS pump that packed up on me but when i got the unit stripped i thought that the seal was ok and no bore ware but replaced it anyway then tested it and still no compression .The motor sounded as if it was running but the crank was not turning so i checked the grub screw that holds the crank on the shaft and it was lose so tightened it up and all is good
another repair i did was to the camping gas stove so now we can cook again while travelling.
next job is sort out the FIP and stop leaks.

Did you get to the bottom of that fault?
 
This is a Duracell branded battery (no annoying Bunny in evidence though). Does look brand new TBH. I did a desulphate charge cycle on it with my little Ctek charger after I fitted the Jog Unit as it had been dragged low so many times.
Didn't think Duracell made lead acid batteries, sounds like brand exploitation, Chinese battery with a Duracell label:rolleyes:

Yes, and Rolls Royce cars are no longer Rolls Royce and British-owned but German. Is that brand exploitation too, or just a change of owners but same skillset and craftsmanship paid from a foreign purse? :D

Rolls Royce is British, Rolls Royce cars are BMW and my experience of German engineering is not good.

The fact is, Duracell never made Lead Acid batteries and I would bet they still don't, RR always made cars and they still do, with, as you say a different owner.

May or may not be Chinese sourced, but it is still brand exploitation. Stick a known name on a previously barely known in Europe product and sheeple will buy it.

Brand counts for a lot. Look at all the Costa coffee shops springing up all over the place. Most are private owners trading under the name and they pay Costa for the privilege of using their name because it is recognisable and the sheeple (like that word by the way) stick to what they know.
 
Today I checked my Battery Status after having yesterday fitted a solar trickle-charger.
The good news (from my perspective at least) is that the battery shows as being in a decent state of charge, in fact more charged than when I connected it yesterday.
I have a Ctek "Comfort Connector" tucked into the radiator grille which means it can be accessed and checked from outside the vehicle. It shows (via traffic-light LED's) the state of charge of the battery (or at least the voltage across the battery, which isn't quite the same thing) the indicator itself consumes ~1Ah per month.
Its states are:
Green-Flashing is above 12.7 volts
Orange-Flashing is between 12.4 and 12.7 volts
Red-Flashing is below 12.4 volts
When I fitted the Solar charger at 2 PM yesterday the status was Yellow-Flashing, and the battery taking charge from the panel meant it stayed Yellow as the battery was dragging the (open Circuit) 23V of the panel down and taking charge.
By the end of the day the status had improved to Green-Flashing so the thing was doing a reasonable job I think.
Went out there this morning first thing and the status was back to Orange-Flashing (not too surprising).
Checked again at mid-day today and its back to Green-Flashing.
So it seems that the charger is capable of keeping pace with the background load of the locked and alarmed car and the comfort indicator. I am hoping that this is a "win".

They have been re-formulated using Palm Oil to make them cheaper, unfortunately Palm Oil causes me problems so I can no longer eat them, but the masses will, I expect, never notice.
 
Had mooch underneath and found the front drivers side axle seal damp and the transfer front output shaft flange has play in it!! No leaking from it just a small amount of movement. I'd if thought there should be no movement?:eek:

Probably been forced to change because of the link between trans-fats and cancer. McVities biscuits used to be crammed full of them.
