Decided that while I had the head off I would replace the timing chains, and any guides and tensioners that I need to. Water pump was a bit noisy and it had the plastic impeller so new one ordered. Christmas has come early for the old beast
Oh I'd just love new chains, don't think Mrs Bagshots credit card will stretch that far

I won an e-Bay auction for a P38 Towbar with unused electrics cable.
The Witter towbar for the car is c.£289 inc. fitting.

I got this one for £74.

Bit odd. The P38 has a swan-neck one that bolts on underneath.

Oh bugger. Perhaps I've been had. LOL
But the Witter one looks similar as do several others, so hopefully I will be OK with it.
I shall report back.

Oohhhh .....What style of Archery was this? Traditional Longbow, Recurve or Compound?
Before I broke my shoulder I was a keen Archer.
Regards, Dan.

Welcome back Al. Feeling better? Wammers has been a bit quiet of late.
Getting there mate, another specialist on Friday, was nice to be in the sun and got a bit of painting done but had to start at 8 and finish around 11 because it was HOT. Tony said he's rough so I'll give him a bell soon.;)

Are we all ill?? I just had a ruptured appendix, then one week later Gallbladder problems, went to Cyprus for 2 weeks, not long been back bit of rest and sun helped a lot, been waiting for 3 months for the operation, and on say got the call, going in at last on the 23rd to have it taken out, sometimes it can hurt so much not even pain killers can stop it

Getting old is not for wimps.:D we should have a subforum listing all our aches, pains and ailments.:D

Handed my BMW cyl head over to a machine shop to be pressure tested, new stem seals and valve lapping...
Very sad but I seem to be quite excited to see how it gets on.(note to self, need to get out more !!)
Head cracked... Thankyou God...!!!!!

Today I peered underneath my 17 YO P38a to see where the recently acquired tow-bar should go. I wish I hadn't looked, never seen so much rust collected together in one place.
The miracle is that at least it is still flying in formation as it were. LOL
Its probably not that bad but I am not looking forward to clambering right under there to find out. Luckily, my Brother in Law is an MOT tester so in due course he can give me the details of anything not good enough.

Pete Refurbished the air ride system for me (block and compressor) all of it, so fingers X that's it sorted out now, seems to be working fine again for the time being

Dropped my second-hand head off to be pressure tested before fitting. Won't be ready until next week,so few of the old school workshops left so those that are very busy.

Bit the bullet and called the electronic engineer wizard and asked him to bring his magic box. The nearside front EAS keeps playing up. Intermittently rising by 2cm. A quick reset puts it back to normal, then when she feels like it it goes up again :( I knew a few weeks of all quiet was too good to be true.
